The space

I love airbnb and will go out of my way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible - please get in touch with me and if I can make it happen I will.

The flat is a standard 1 bed (king) size but there is a sofa bed in the living room so it can accommodate 4 adults if you are willing to squeeze up - a great city centre bargain if you do.

(please note I do not charge extra for babies or any children up to 18. I have a zed bed and travel cot if needed as I have 3 young children myself)

I've set the check in and out times as flexible as possible as I realise this can be an annoying element when travelling. Where I can I aim to offer the opportunity to check in early or check out late. Please ask and I'll do my best to accommodate as long as it does not inconvenience other guests.

Guest have full use of the flat. Secure high speed (76 mb/s) Wi-Fi, video on demand, TIVO functionality and wireless streaming music through SONOS with SPOTIFY premium are all available. The kitchen has all the food basics to rustle up a quick breakfast or create something more involved. The living room has a sofa bed so if your willing to squeeze up you can get a bargain place for 4 but I've priced it for two adults (plus kids if you like) as that is what the flat is best suited for.

I can be on hand as little or as much as the guest would like. I will supply comprehensive info on local pubs, cafes, restaurants and activities to allow you to avoid tourist traps (although Edinburgh is never that bad) and discover local hidden gems.

Very central - you'll be on the Royal mile or Princes Street in less than 5 minutes. Although only set back from the bustling Grassmarket about 50m the flat is on the top floor and the bedroom is to the rear so there is minimal street noise. Please note there are 3 flights of stairs and no lift.
The postcode is EH1 2RX - its 0.4 miles to the west end of princes street, 0.8 miles to the east end of princes street, 0.3 miles to the royal mile, 0.8 miles to haymarket train station and 0.7 miles to waverley train station.

Very easy to walk everywhere but Edinburgh has a great bus system. City tour buses also go straight passed the flat through the Grassmarket. The number 35 from the airport is a local bus that gets you close for only £1.50. Web search Lothian Buses for all Edinburgh routes and times. Taxi from airport will be approximately £20. Tram or dedicated airlink bus £5.00 single, £8 return. There is a secure carpark within 500 yards for £12 per day.

There is a washing machine and a separate dryer available within the flat (and a hair dryer).
I will supply towels, soap, individual shampoo & body wash and all bed linen.

David's place was in such a great location! We were able to see and hear the Military Tattoo just outside the bedroom window. It was also a short walk to the Royal Mile. It was also nice that it was in a gated apartment. Thanks again!

Our stay at Davids was great- anything you could possibly need is in the apartment! Information on local attractions, snacks, a couple of drinks, toiletries, etc. The apartment is centrally located so it was really convenient to use as a home base when exploring the city- always close enough to swing through mid-day as we walked around the city. I wish we could have stayed longer! The view of the castle is great too.

Great host, great location, appreciated the welcoming snacks and refreshments upon arrival. Beautiful view of Edinburgh castle and the Hub, including a great spot to watch the Tattoo fireworks. Hoping to return in the near future.

Enjoyed our brief stay in Edinburgh. David's apartment is centrally located but quiet. The apartment was clean and well stocked with some basic foods, which was a pleasant surprise. Recommend his apartment to all who want a base to explore Edinburgh and have a comfortable bolt hole to do it from.

Great little apartment with views of the Castle and close to the museum. A number of great eateries on a short stroll away. Highly recommended for singles/couples. Dave's communication was top notch, along with an extremely comprehensive information pack on getting to the apartment, places to eat, and things to do, as well as dozens of brochures and guides on the table.

Hiya.

I am a married 40 year old father with two fantastic children (7 and 2) who take up most of my time.

I've recently joined Airbnb (April 2014) and plan to do my best to make sure you have a great Edinburgh experience.

I like good company, good food and good wine (well any wine really).
Hobbies include reading, cooking, football, golf and pushing children on swings.

Back when I had the chance I liked to travel with Cape Town, New York and Las Vegas my favourite spots.

The flat is my old bachelor pad and I still work (in financial services) just around the corner. I also only live around 3.5 miles away so can be on hand quickly should you need me urgently but generally I let my guests get on with it.

My listing has an electronic lock so you can come and go as you please with your secure pin code, no need to pick up and return any keys. With this in mind I'm happy for early and late check ins and checks outs as long as it fits in with other guests.
