Surrounded by the silence of the forest, you can relax here, away from the bustle of everyday life. Enjoy easy access to snowmobile and ATV trails. Explore the local cross country, mountain bike and snowshoe trails. Ice fish the numerous small lakes, enjoy local restaurants, shops, winery, and art. Always wise to drive a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle to this property in winter and spring. Also check out our other Airbnb rental, Ott's Cozy Suite, located 3/4 mile away on this 60-acre property!

The space
Two small bedrooms with a full size bed in each and a usable closet in one, provide sleeping comfort. A full size futon in the living room makes sleeping space for a couple more. Six people is our max. Please don't try to squeeze in more.

Our Cozy Cabin kitchen has standard size appliances, cook, bake and serving ware and basic spices for preparing delicious meals.

This is an all season cabin with electric heat. We have no air conditioning; but if you keep the windows closed and blinds drawn during the heat of the summer day, the place stays pleasantly cool.

The cabin is about 500 square feet. It is cozy; and although technically it can sleep six adults, those six people better like togetherness while they are inside! Realizing that not all groups of 6 want to sleep in 3 full size beds, we don't mind if you want to bring a tent in order to spread out a bit, as long as you don't exceed the total of 6 people at our property. Our water heater and septic system is not set up for large groups.

The sweet space inside extends outside with a nice, big, outdoor deck and a fire pit with complimentary firewood.

Plenty of parking for trucks, trailers, and ATVs/UTVs/snowmobiles. The Cozy Cabin is about 1 mile from a designated ATV and snowmobile route. Guests have access to the route with no need to trailer their machine.

A note about Covid -19 -- We pride ourselves in providing clean rentals! However, when you leave your home to stay in ours, you assume all responsibility and risk for avoiding contact with a virus. We promise, like always, to clean and sanitize our places after each guest departure. But, for your own peace of mind, if you wish to bring your own disinfecting products/supplies to do a clean sweep before you settle in, you are very welcome to do so without hurting our pride one bit. Here are some things we don't do:
1) We do not re-wash and sanitize the dishes. If you wish to do this before using them, please do. Bleach and instructions are located beneath the kitchen sink.
2) We do not take apart every board game and try to sanitize all playing pieces. If this is a concern, please bring your own games.
3) We do not treat rugs/carpeting/cloth furniture with disinfectant.
4) All sheets/pillow cases and towels are laundered after every stay. Top blankets are laundered monthly or more frequently if stains or odors are present. If you prefer to bring your own top blankets, you are welcome to do so (please insure they are clean).
5) Although we do launder pillow cases, we do not launder the actual pillows after every stay. If this is unsettling to you, please bring your own pillow.
6)We do not sanitize outdoor items such as canoe paddle handles, yard game box or content. You are welcome to bring your own sanitary wipes and clean these areas before use if that makes you more comfortable.

Other notes:
Some guests have asked if they can set up a tent, camper or RV on our property. We consider this case by case and charge accordingly; so if you are wondering, please ask.

Many people ask if they can bring their well-behaved, quiet pet to our Cozies. We do not allow pets inside our rentals. However, if you wish to bring a kennel to keep your well-behaved, quiet, friendly pet outdoors, we will permit. We also ask that you clean up all pet waste immediately, and that you repair any unexpected damage your pet might uncharacteristically create. Please obtain prior approval before showing up with a pet. If your pet will not tolerate being separated from you while you are in our Cozy, please patronize a different Airbnb with a pet friendly policy. A past guest, who brought his dog, also brought a canopy which he erected on the deck, under which he put a kennel. It worked great for providing shelter from rain and sun, not only for the dog, but also for his family while they enjoyed their time playing games at the picnic table!

as a guest at our Cozy, you are also given privilege to use our little lake and boats located next to our Homestead (the log home on the left after you turn onto Hannah's Lane). please ask for more detail about lake/boat use.

Guest access
The Cozy Cabin is less than one mile from a designated ATV/snow mobile route. As long as you ride respectfully on Hannah's Lane to get to the route, you can access the trail system with no need to trailer your machines. Please check with local clubs for trail conditions before booking your stay. (Red Arrow Snowmobile and ATV, Dusty Trails ATV, White Lake ATV, Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile)

As a guest at Ott's Cozy Cabin during the months of June - September, you also are welcome to enjoy our small 3-acre lake located about 1 mile down the road at our Cozy Suite and Homestead. Guests renting our Cozy Suite and our family also enjoy this water. This lake doesn't support fish any bigger than minnows! Sorry fisherman! But it is fun for swimming and boating in the heat of summer! Please be sure to study the property map available inside the Cozy before going out to explore so you do not wander onto neighbor's private properties.

Other things to note
Ott's Cozy Cabin, Suite and Homestead are not near a grocery store. The closest grocery store is a 25-minute drive away. It's most convenient to pick up your groceries before you arrive.

In your travels to our place, we highly recommend you follow the directions given to you in our listing rather than your navigation system. Sometimes "most direct" routes are not the most sensible routes! If your GPS instructs you to turn onto Sauls Spring Road, please do not choose to travel that road. Rather continue your journey to the Town of Langlade at the intersection of HWYs 64 and 55. Go north on 55 and follow the directions we have provided in the "Guest Resources" section of the listing.

The Cozy Cabin is reached by a long driveway. Winter snows and spring mud may offer some accessibility challenges. We do our best to provide plowed access; but traveling in a 4-wheel-drive vehicle in the north woods of Wisconsin is always a good idea for winter and spring!

Although we don't prohibit alcohol use on our property; we prefer no drunkenness. We are a quiet, family getaway -- not a party destination. We don't allow fireworks or loud music. The frogs and birds singing, the shooting stars flashing, and the joyful laughter of families and friends making memories are what this place is meant to hold!

Our Cozy Cabin feels remote; but we do have neighbors. We appreciate that you honor our request that this be a quiet retreat.

Nature is the main draw; but there are a few little towns within 15-20 miles of our place. Visit Langlade and Oconto Counties' websites for great resources of things to do in our area. Lakewood Area Chamber of Commerce, Red Arrow ATV and Snowmobile Club and Lily Sno-Birds Snowmobile Club also have valuable information on their websites.

While we encourage you to explore our acreage, it is REALLY important that you do not trespass on our neighbors' properties. Please talk to us before you explore so we can guide you in acceptable directions. A map of our property is in the Cozy Cabin. Our neighbors do have trail cameras in their woods. Your presence will be detected on their property. Every time a guest "accidentally" finds themselves on private property other than ours, our reputation, and that of Airbnb, is diminished. We'd like to keep hosting. Please don't anger our neighbors by not respecting their property boundaries. If you don't know, don't go!

Although I'm the "host", this really is a joint venture with my husband! Without him alongside me, our Cozies wouldn't exist! We have been married for 30 years and have enjoyed our journey together tremendously! We love meeting people and learning about their lives, and we especially like to share our little slice of earth with others, providing a quiet get-away from the hustle and bustle of life. We feel blessed to give people respite from city lights, noise, and electronics. There's great gains in slowing down, listening and watching nature, and spending "real" time with family and friends uninterrupted by the continual distraction of cell phones and screens. We love the opportunity Airbnb provides to connect with people from all walks of life and from all over the world!
