This is a peaceful cabin retreat set in stunning countryside. Located on the southern edge of Snowdonia National Park and within the Dyfi UNESCO Biosphere area, this quiet hideaway is surrounded by scenic and natural diversity.

The space
One of several wood fronted chalets in the well-maintained and picturesque park at Penmaendyfi, your cabin retreat includes a kitchen/living room area, two bedrooms, and a shower room with separate toilet. The newly-decorated living room features a big, comfortable corner sofa which folds out into a double bed. A folding table, with chairs, provides ample space for your group to eat together.

Bedroom one has a double bed, with bedside cabinet and clothes hanging rail. Bedroom two features a "double" bunk bed (one up, two down), plus a bedside cabinet and hooks with clothes hangers. Bedroom two has views right out to the Dyfi Estuary stretching towards the sea, while bedroom one has a green "garden" view.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for your stay, including fridge, electric oven and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all essential crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking equipment.

The bathroom has an electric shower with good water pressure. The toilet is separated from the shower and sink area by a door.

Enjoy a drink outside on the patio area, with the outdoor table and chairs.

Guest access
The entire chalet and patio area is yours to enjoy.

Other things to note
Accessibility - the chalet is less than 100 metres walk from the car park, over a firm pathway. There are two steep steps up to the front door - otherwise step free access is possible over grass.

Connectivity - there is no wifi at the chalet and some mobile networks have patchy reception, so it is not suitable for remote working.

Power - the chalet is all electric, and the electricity is on a coin meter which takes pound coins only.

Located right on the Wales Coast Path, the chalet is the perfect base for exploring the local coastline with its many coves and beaches, both hidden and well-known. Aberdyfi with its harbour and golden sand beach is a 12-minute drive away, and there are many lovely short walks and day hikes to take through fields, woods and moorland.

Plas Talgarth hotel and resort, with its day spa and restaurant, is a 30-minute walk or a 5-minute drive away. Local village Pennal is just beyond, and has a smart gastropub.

Local town Machynlleth is a quirky and thriving market town with a vegetarian cafe, good pubs and interesting shops including several antique emporia and bookshops. Machynlleth is a 9-minute drive from your chalet and has a petrol station, train station two "Co-Op" supermarkets and a Spar for all your essentials. Recently moved back to west Wales with my partner Penny, beginning to get involved in woodland conservation again, and rewilding. Just started a master's in Sustainability and Adaptation at CAT after many years in forest research. Green and vegan.
