Where you’ll be

Running Creek, Queensland, Australia

Running Creek Cottage has it's own separate entrance so guests can come and go as you like. Surrounding the Cottage including the beautiful Running Creek is 30+ acres to enjoy and explore. Other parts of the farm including over the railway line may be accessible but this is subject to farm operations and cattle movement with major consideration to minimising risky cattle movements. This will be discussed with you upon your check-in. As a farm is inherently an unsafe environment guests must be aware of the risks. At a minimum guests are required to where closed-in shoes when exploring the farm at all times. A light weight shoe is HIGHLY recommended to be worn when in the creek. Long pants are also recommended when walking in the grass. Snakes are present on the farm especially in warmer weather so awareness is vital. Whilst sightings are not common, guests are advised not to sit on fallen logs, put their hands in small dark places outside and to always look where they are walking. A small amount of firewood is provided to get you set-up however after that you are welcome to collect wood from around the farm or you can purchase more from us for $10 a bag.
We love telling people about our cattle, and where possible will happily spend some time with you showing you our farm operation, so please ask if interested. We also have a swimming hole that we, friends and family use and where possible we will offer this to our guests for your enjoyment. As this is located within a 5 minute walk from our home we may encounter each other and enjoy a drink by the Creek together. If looking to take a drive, within an hour radius there are local growers and producers with farm gates and cafes to visit. Follow Running Creek Cottage on Facebook to be kept up to-date with local area to-do recommendations. Also the Cottage has tourist information including maps and leaflets for you to use to find your way around.

We are cattle farmers my husband Rod and I. It is our greatest pleasure to share our breath-taking scenic farm with people. We are so excited to refurbish and open our Cottage to guests to experience what we have the blessing of living every day. Friends often tell us that being on the farm even for just a day is like having a holiday. As foodies and lovers of good wine we can't wait to introduce you to the local producers. We also open our own farm-gate experience to the public and sell our very own branded farm fresh meat under our label Running Creek Beef.
