Bus 60 to the Prefecture (5 min walk) will take you to Mucem / Fort St Jean and Terrasses du Port
The rue de Rome is very busy, as is the street (cobblestone) Saint Ferréol (prefecture side, 200 m) goes as far as La Canebière which goes down to the Vieux Port (15min walk from the apartment).
It is also in the streets at the back (Edmond Rostand) that begins the neighborhood of the antique dealers.
You are also a 15 minute walk from the hill where Notre Dame de la Garde (The Good Mother) dominates the city (it's all right and the view up there is impregnable!).
The Rue d'Italie (next door) is full of small restaurants
Le Cours Julien (a metro station, 5 min by foot) is a lively and family-run neighborhood, half-pedestrian where the streets contain typical and worldly restaurants, bars, designer boutiques, theater and theaters, and its famous market Bio on Wednesday morning next to the sunny terraces and public play areas for children.
Just in the neighborhood of the plain, we will go to see concerts, have a drink in the evening and discover a part of the nightlife Marseille but you will also appreciate its market 4 times a week: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays gather Fruit and vegetable merchants and fairgrounds. Cosmopolitan, heteroclite, noise, the world, joviality and colors ... In this market, we find everything ... and especially what we do not seek ... it is according to the days, Months and markets! Wednesday is dedicated to the flower market.
Just a few steps from the apartment is also the Prado market, every morning except Sunday. It is all in length which avoids one loses oneself especially if one comes with family.
You will find fruits, vegetables and other products of mouth (side Castellane), and the rest (clothes and miscellaneous) side Périer. On Friday morning a large flower market is added on the sidewalk opposite!
At 20 m from the house you have bicycle stalls: you can rent bicycles with your credit card. A deposit of 150 € is requested (not debited) then you buy a ticket valid for one week (for only 1 €) and you can borrow a bike: first half hour free then 0.50 € / hour.
Finally, walks in the calanques and the back country!
