Thank you Dennis for the stay. Although the house is not so close to downtown, it could be a good location to see the typical Kyoto local people and shops. Looking forward to hosting you again!

Shimpei is very proactive in helping us out with local transportation, waste management and a door-to-door shuttle service from Kyoto to Kansai Airport. This made our trip a great memory. If you would like to experience a pure local residential life during your trip to Kyoto, th…

Thank you Angela for selecting my house. I too learned about the shuttle this time, which should be useful information for my future guests. I like Daitoku-ji too for its fewer visitors (compared to major temples) and atmosphere. I enjoyed ringing the Joya no Kane (除夜の鐘) at the night of New Year's eve in the temple last year but plan to open the house to guests this year. Looking forward to accommodating you and your family again. Shimpei

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shimpei’s place! It was in a great location (we loved the coffee shop at the end of the street!), with shops and restaurants close by and the station a 10-15 minute walk. The place itself was lovely, a great mix of traditional and modern. Shimpei…
