About this listing
Spacious upstairs bed-sitting room of a modernist apartment from the 1920's with views of the canals of Coolhaven, historical Delfshaven and modern Rotterdam with Euromast. City center-west, near by Museum Park and Central Station (trains)
The large window of the upstairs (first-level) 31m2 room at the front of the house, shows a scenic view of the canals connecting old and modern Rotterdam; frequently cargo-vessels sail by.
The room offers a comfortable double bed of 180x200cm, with natural latex mattresses and two duvets. A nicely covered bedstead of 80x190cm is available for an extra adult or child. On request two more beds for either adults, children or a baby could be placed in the room.
The room is styled after its particular location, with parquet and a combination of antique and modern furniture: two tables with chairs, sofa and lazy chair, television, transistor-radio and a variety of lamps, a multi-purpose cupboard and hall-stand. Tea can be prepared in the room with a water-boiler.
The room is white and like the rest of the house, modestly decorated with paintings, photographs and a rare sculpture of contemporary artists from around the world.
Next to the private room are a separate, private toilet. A large bathroom with sink, shower and bath is to be shared with the family. At the ground-floor a small but fully equipped kitchen is available to use upon request. Use of washing-machine in the basement is possible for a small compensation. If you desire, we serve breakfast in the privacy of your own room or welcome you downstairs at the table in the family dining-room. The breakfast is continental and prepared with fresh, homemade bread, on demand for € 8,- per person. Smoking is allowed only in the back-yard

I love peace and understanding, art, eyes and animals; coast and mountain hiking; cooking, baking & salad-making for friends and strangers. I enjoy white cumuli, wet pasture, sandy landscapes, stones, sunshine, surfaces and singing; grew up growing vegetables, bush-fruit and flowers; like to share eating shell-fish, eel or fresh Dutch haring. Often I listen to “Shackles” (by Mary Mary), Nina Simone or Mozart, Bach and companions, jazz, funk, rap, ska, reggae and various danceable popsongs not too loud. Sometimes I reread Nescio, Reve, Joyce, Donald Duck, a bible, sutra or Einstein. My favorite flowers are gerbera, anemone, freesia and tulip. Idol painters I consider Mondriaan, Vermeer, Malevich, Giotto, Matisse, Bonnard, Anton Henning and David Meade. I collect printed maps, especially of the Alps and of islands around the world; am fond of shiny red-orange colors, ocean-deep manganese and light sky blue; but first of all I'm very lucky to be among my two children's favorite life-guides --------------------------------------
I provide workshops, lectures and guided tours, at home and abroad, round-about almost all items mentioned here above and some forgotten. Don't hesitate to inquire in advance or on your arrival
