The space
The private gite nestles in one end of the stunning barn conversion. Rural views from all the windows. It is t the end of a 'no through' road; yet only ten minutes from amenities and a range of outdoor activities.
The gite has been carefully and thoughtfully laid out to make the most of the beautiful character features. The open plan double height living space highlights the beautiful vaulted ceiling. Huge windows ensure the open plan space is flooded with light. Th folding doors open onto the terrace which faces west into the setting sun.
The stone walls and shaped corner coins have been preserved and carefully repointed using the traditional techniques. The ancient oak purlins and A frames are left exposed as are all the new structural timbers which have been made with green oak sourced locally.
All the furniture, fixtures and fittings are the highest quality.
The kitchen has an integrated washing machine and dishwasher. The American fridge/ freezer dispenses ice and cold water. There is a SMEG electric oven and gas hob with extractor hood, and a Nespresso coffee machine.
Both shower rooms have Hansgrohe showers, glass screens and quality fittings. Large shower towels, hand towels, shower mats, soap and shampoo are provided.
The beds are made up for you with high quality bed linen. There is a double and a single bed in each bedroom, so we can offer a double bed or twin beds in each room.
Initial supplies of kitchen and bathroom supplies are provided.
For guests staying a week there will be a welcome basket which will contain sufficient for a simple supper for Saturday evening, and breakfast on Sunday morning. There will be a bottle of wine, eggs and fresh produce from our garden.

Guest access
Private entrance. Parking for two cars. Bifold doors open to private terrace. Steps lead down to private, courtyard garden. This opens into the field and leads on to 25 acres of private woodland. You are welcome to walk through the woods. Marked paths meander through the ancient woodlands in the shade. A public bridlepath leads down to the lake.
We are self-sufficient in seasonal vegetables thanks to our 'potager' and poly tunnel. We also have free range chickens. Guests are able to have our home grown produce as availability permits. Mushrooms grow abundantly in the woods in the autumn.

Other things to note
This stunning undulating landscape, with warm lakes, miles of empty roads and paths is perfect for hiking, open water swimming, road cycling, mountain biking and running. There are three lakes within a short distance with a range of water sports; SUP, kayaking, windsurfing, boating. Fishing is permitted in the lakes and rivers.
The other part of our business here at ‘La Grange’ is 'Millevaches Triathlon Holidays'. We offer bespoke holidays which cater for individuals, families or small groups of any ability. We organise guided and supported swimming, cycling and running, tailored to your requirements. Please ask!

My husband and I moved to France in 2014 from the UK. We bought a beautiful granite barn and we have slowly and carefully converted it into our home and a beautiful self-contained gite. We love to share this amazing area with guests who enjoy the peace and tranquility or those who love the great outdoors. Andrew is a keen triathlete and we both enjoy swimming in the lakes and running and cycling on the empty roads and tracks. We love the landscape, the emptiness and the peace.
