The space
The Lodge is a dedicated guest house on our wooded and rural 5.5 acre property on Livingston Mountain in Camas, WA. It was originally built as the primary living space on the property, and we renovated the space with hosting in mind. The Lodge has an all new kitchen, layout, wood stove, insulation, furnishings and more. It is located to the right at the top of our gravel driveway, via the entrance on 53rd, just east of the main house.

You can now enjoy your own private deck and cedar hot tub. Newly built and exclusively for guests, the deck includes a table, chairs, and a hammock for your ultimate relaxing get away.

Guest access
Guests can roam most of the property. Our property has a wide range of topography and natural features, including:

- Roughly 2.5 acres of untouched forest and creek that is part of our watershed.
- A wetland pond under rehabilitation.
- A spring that runs through our garden.
- A fixed greenhouse adjacent the garden, a cottage and small orchard under rehabilitation.

Guests can feel free to sample fruits or vegetables from the garden if they're available, explore the creek within the property boundary (if running) or simply go for a stroll. The creek - Matney Creek, part of the Lacamas Watershed - runs year round but transitions underground in some spots. If you want to see the running water you'll have to follow the sound; and also brave the blackberries until they are cleared.

Areas to generally avoid:
• The main house except for lodging needs and questions (as mentioned).
• The barn above the guest house. The barn is in relative disrepair and should be avoided.

Other things to note
A note regarding COVID-19:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silver Star Lodge takes your health and safety very seriously, and this is reflected in our existing policies. Our cleaning policies have always taken into consideration the half life of common viruses on surfaces and in aerosol, and our cleaning standard requires disinfectants endorsed by the EPA's Emerging Viral Pathogen program. These are known to kill common and emerging viruses including COVID-19. Our turnover & check-in policy also takes this into consideration regarding aerosol. This follows for our hot tub sanitiziers, bromine and spa shock. We continue to take every precaution to ensure that our lodge and accessible areas are safe environment for our guests.

The Entrance:
The entrance is on 53rd St immediately west of the three way intersection at 292nd St / Livingston Road, very near where 292nd turns into Livingston. Exercise CAUTION when entering and exiting the property, as drivers from the east cross a short blind crest. It is a good idea to signal your turn a quarter mile or so before hand to alert following drivers. The driveway has a (currently) manually operated gate that will be opened for guests.

Parking:
Once past the gate, continue up the driveway, turn right at the top, and park in the space just to the east of The Lodge. It is marked by landscape logs. If you have more than one vehicle, you can also park in front of the canoe at the entrance, or down the driveway in the clearing with the two large firs. If the need arises for indoor parking The Lodge has a one car garage that can accommodate a compact car. Let us know in advance if you believe you will need indoor parking and you are arriving in a compact car.

Roads:
Since we are rural, roads are not lit as they would be in a city.

Identifying our property from the road:
The property frontage is home to a green house, two hoop houses and a cottage under renovation. It also has some solar lights in the garden that can serve as a partial marker for night arrivals. There is also a large, black & gold semi-ornate mailbox that has the address on both sides. If you have any trouble locating the property please contact us.

Animals:
Two indoor / outdoor cats - Cleo (a Tuxedo) and Zimmy (a white Ragamuffin) - have free reign of the property. If you are staying more than one night you will almost certainly encounter some deer. There are also wild hares which are mostly visible in the garden area in the mornings, and raccoons roam at night.

Cell reception:
Reception can be spotty depending on your carrier. Verizon has the best coverage in the area, but most carrier coverage improves dramatically a couple of miles toward downtown Camas.

Other notes:
We have a gravel driveway. It is not very steep, but loose gravel can cause 2WD vehicles to spin a tad at times. It's nothing that will prevent a 2WD from making it up the driveway, but if this is something you are concerned about you can park to the left of the cottage in the open area between the two large firs, then walk up the driveway.

***During the COVID-19 pandemic we will not allow extra guests other than the ones who have originally booked.

Our immediate area is composed of 5 acre minimum lots, thus very private, quiet and wooded. Our neighbors are all great people whom you will likely never encounter given the minimum lot space. Just up Livingston Mountain you will find gated communities with one acre minimum lots, fancy rides and more good people.

More information is provided in The Lodge, but we are in very close proximity to an absolute treasure trove of outdoor activities. If you have an AWD or 4WD, Silver Star Scenic area - part of Gifford Pinchot National Forest - is an eight minute drive up Livingston Mountain. The area is gorgeous and boasts a multitude of activities, not to mention stunning, unobstructed views of Mount Hood.

During your stay
We are available when we are on-site. Our family is back and forth between our property and California a variable basis. When we are not on the property, we have multiple people on call to deal with emergencies or serious issues that may arise.

I (Kristle) am available at almost all times via Airbnb's messaging tool or text/phone if we have exchanged numbers, excluding if I am asleep or otherwise unable to get to a computer or phone. In cases in which I am unavailable, my husband will usually respond. We take our guests needs very seriously, and when prompted we will respond as quickly as humanly possible in all cases.
