Other things to note
Some things to note about your stay at Everly's Hideout.
Idabel Lake Resort is a grouping of privately owned lodge units and cabins, not a resort in the true sense of the word, though there are some shared amenities like the beach, field with volleyball net, dock, firepit, playground and games room.
Everly's Hideout is a very cautious pet friendly property. If you have a smaller to mid size well behaved dog over 1.5 years old, that is not used to being in your beds or on furniture at home (preferably not upstairs at all), it may be a possibility to bring your dog. There is an additional pet fee of $30 per night plus taxes and fees. If they are used to restrictions at home, it works, otherwise it is not fair to expect your pet to behave differently when on holiday.
The rental is for the guests you have booked and visitors are not allowed unless they are added to your booking.

Neighbourhood highlights

Everly's Hideout is located in a small grouping of privately owned cabins and lodge units called Idabel Lake Resort. Idabel Lake is a small wilderness community on the lake that is about 1/2 hour drive from Kelowna. It is an awesome year round getaway from the city, quiet and serene. In the winter, the lake is frozen and you can snowmobile, skate and cross country ski on it (depending on conditions of course).
In the summer there is great hiking in the mountains and to other nearby lakes. It is close to the trans Canada bike trail so mountain biking is a favorite activity in the area. You can bring your own canoes, kayaks or paddleboards to get out to get out on the lake. The swimming is lovely, a bit cool, but great on those hot summer days.
Idabel Lake is about a 15 minute drive past the Big White turnoff when heading from Kelowna towards Beaverdell. You turn right off highway 33 about 3 km past the Big White turn (to the left). You will see the signs for Idabel Lake and the road is called McCullough Road where you turn right off the highway. At the next intersection you turn left and travel about 4 km until you see the sign to turn right for Idabel Lake Road (FYI if you continue straight on McCullough Road you come to Kelowna cross country ski club trails).
Idabel Lake is 6 km from Highway 33. The road off the highway is not paved but is plowed in the winter. You will need a car to get there and in winter, it is preferable to have a 4 x 4 or front wheel drive with good winter tires.
There is a games room in the lodge with a telephone should you need it. Cell phones do not work at Idabel Lake, but you can use WiFi to make calls or receive text messages and emails if your phone has that capability.
The resort is actually a bigger lodge with several units, a duplex and 8 cabins each privately owned. The name "resort" is a bit misleading :).
There are no grocery stores or restaurants at Idabel Lake, so you will want to have supplies with you. There are lots of restaurants at Big White or in Kelowna. When you drive to Big White base, the gondola is free to get to the village where there are awesome restaurants in the winter and some even open in the summer.
The drive from the cabin to the Gem Lake Express Quad at Big White is a quick 20 minute drive. There is also a small lodge and bistro there at the base of the Gem Lake Ski lift.
We hope you will enjoy this wilderness treasure!

I am a person who loves God and traveling, enjoying meeting people, local history & natural beauty all around us. I grew up in the Kootenays, skiing Red Mountain and enjoying the beauty of Christina Lake in the summers. We enjoy preparing the homes for rental, to make them as comfortable and well equipped as we can. Our vacation properties are named after our precious granddaughters: Casa de Perla (Pearl), Everly's Hideout and Zoë's Lighthouse.
