Interaction with guests
My husband, Ray, and I run Wynards Farm with the help of our daughter, Annabel, therefore, guests are greeted and shown their rooms and offered maps and literature, then taken to the dining room and if they wish around the garden. When we see guests at breakfast we enquire where they are going and offer the "local secrets" of picturesque routes and places.
Most of our guests enjoy the privacy of having their own front doors, but usually my husband and I are around if we are needed.
Other things to note
The rooms have folders listing our breakfast menu, places to eat, posh nosh, lunches and cream teas, suggestions of places to walk, must do's. activities, places to visit and plenty more. There is a basket of leaflets for most attractions in the area.
We also offer coolkeep bags and icepacks and ordnance survey maps for use during your stay.
We are a strictly NO smoking family in any of the bedrooms and rooms, but are happy if guests wish to smoke in the garden (not the doorways to rooms) and can provide an ash tray.
Guests are asked to consider us and others if coming in late, especially after a wedding!
My husband, Ray, and I have lived at Wynards Farm for 29 years, having moved 2 1/2 miles east from the village of Owermoigne.
I never tire of the wonderful situation I live in and feel very fortunate to enjoy my home so much. I occasionally ride, weather permitting, but gardening takes up a lot of time and energy. Ray is a keen sailor, having crossed the Atlantic and then Pacific to New Zealand in a Malo 38. This has since been sold and he now belongs to the "Old Gaffers Association" as he owns a Cornish Crabber.
The photo was taken in New Zealand at Sharon's house, our eldest daughter, but fortunately we still have Annabel living approx. 15 mins. drive away.
I am a great lover of lunches and teas and visiting gardens with friends. Ray is more of a pub man, especially the Sailors Return on a Friday evening which is full of locals, farmers and businessmen, and a few wives.
