Enjoy true peace and quiet at our cozy backcountry yurt. One-mile gentle hike on grassy forest road. Bring only a sleeping bag and food. Everything else is provided: beds, pillows, all cooking/eating utensils, woodstove, solar lights.

The space

The Pass Creek Yurt is located in the Rio Grande National Forest at 10, 250'. From the Yurt you have access to the Continental Divide Trail, as well as miles of forest roads to hike, bike, or run. There are two beautiful adjacent creeks from which you get your water. Alberta Lake is 1.5 miles away where you can swim or fish.

Guest access

The Pass Creek Yurt is located 18 miles SW of South Fork, Colorado and 33 miles NE of Pagosa Springs in the Rio Grande National Forest. The last 6 miles are on a well-maintained gravel road. Two wheel drive is fine. Once you park it is a ONE MILE HIKE on a gentle, grassy forest road to the Pass Creek Yurt. YOU WILL NEED THE COMBINATION FROM US.

Interaction with guests

We will connect with you by phone, and email. We live in Pagosa Springs, so if you are in Pagosa we can connect in person.

Other things to note

Water is obtained from the adjacent creek and a water filter supplied. Bathroom is a very clean, nice smelling outhouse with views of the surrounding wilderness. Outdoor shower with solar water heat.
Outside picnic table. There is no railing on the deck, so small children should be closely observed when on the deck.

This was a great time and great location. Sandy was always helpful when communicating with her and our stay was beyond our expectations. Highly recommend this location for anybody looking to do some hiking, mountain biking, or just relaxing and observing the scenery.

Response from Sandy:
Hi Tom, So glad to hear you all had a good trip to the Pass Creek Yurt! Thanks for being intrepid and trusting about the tree over the road :) Thank you for the great review and mentioning the hiking, mtb, along with relaxing. We wish more of our summer visitors would hike and bike from the yurt, so mentioning that in your review is appreciated. Have a great winter, and come again. Sandy
