The space

OUR PLACE:
"The Best Kept Secret in Park Slope!" writes a recent guest.
Ideally situated on First St, in the heart of trendy Park Slope close to 5th Avenue, we offer a freshly painted sunny bedroom on the top floor of our 1888 one family brownstone.

The light filled room overlooks a quiet tree lined street. Guests have their own entrance to the house “up the stoop” (at the second floor level). Although the third floor guests rooms are separated from the family space, there is no division from our family home. Please be aware that we have a steep but carpeted staircase with a solid bannister to the top floor.
There is a spacious bathroom with an extra wide mirror and double hand basins, hair dryer and radio.
A separate toilet room with small hand basin.
Both are private for guest use only.
We supply fresh linens and towels, shampoo and soap.

Washer / dryer near the bathroom is available for a reasonable charge, including detergent.

The bedroom sleeps two and has the original shutters, comfortable full sized bed with duvet, desk and chair, armchair, large closet space, two chests of drawers, luggage rack, mirror, air conditioning, ceiling fan, good internet and wifi reception, mini fridge, coffee maker and electric kettle. We provide bottled water, china cups, plates, bowls, silverware, napkins, a selection of tea bags, instant coffee and a bowl of fruit. Paper goods and coffee filters are kept in top drawer of dresser. For light sensitive guests we cover the shutters with black felt. Guests are welcome to bring food and refreshments back to the room.

Traveling with friends, family or children? We have an additional large bedroom with double bed available on the same floor which can sleep two. An extra fold out bed is available and a baby's cot. We also have a small room with a single bed on this floor. Each person using these rooms carries an additional nightly fee to be agreed upon in advance.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING:
Subways N, R, F, 4, 5, 2, 3, to Manhattan are conveniently close, as is the Long Island Railroad and Brooklyn bus routes B63 and B61. Street parking is available but often difficult on weekdays in the area.

NEIGHBORHOOD & AMENITIES:
The neighborhood has everything you need a few steps away: excellent restaurants, popular coffee shops, bars and patisseries, groceries, supermarkets, clothing shops, banks, post offices, a 24 hour pharmacy and delis and music venues.

We are within easy walking distance of playgrounds, cinemas, art galleries, Prospect Park, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Public Library, Brooklyn Academy of Music, BAM Fisher Theater, Theater for A New Audience at Polonsky Shakespeare Center, Mark Morris Dance Center, Bric House, Urban Glass, weekend flea and farmers markets and the Barclay Center.

FOR KIDS:
There are lots of activities for kids including interactive drop-in concerts led by our daughter Amelia, called Mil's Trills. Our guests with children get free tickets!

Diana was accommodating for our check-in and check-out requests. The home was lovely and came with thoughtful extras - fruit on the dresser, a bar fridge for our leftovers, additional towels/sheets, and local Park Slope/NYC guides.

I have stayed in half a dozen Air B&B and Diana's and Joel's is definitely one if not the best I have been to. There are both very friendly, kind, helpful, discreet and knowledgeable. The neighbourhood is beautiful and very typical of Park Slope in Brooklyn. It's a five minut…

Even with a quick turnaround of guests, everything was ready and wonderful for our stay. Everyone was welcoming and helpful, and the room was as sunny and bright as the pictures look. If you're looking at heading into Manhattan, the subway is close and easy. Even if you're not go…

I really enjoyed my stay - Diana and her husband were away, but her daughter Amelia was a great hostess. The room and bathroom were perfect and this brownstone is in a great area. I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in a good area in Brooklyn.
