We would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Tasmanian Aboriginal Community as the traditional and continuing custodians of this land. We would also like to pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. The 33-acre bush property was purchased in 1978 where a house was built by Mic and shared with family for many years. This period was inspired by the values of self-sufficiency and minimal impact. The cottage idea was born and commenced during this period. It was not until 2016, after fully embracing many of life’s other adventures, including travel and adorable grandchildren, that it was timely to throw all our energy into completion. In 2018 we were delighted to extend our first warm welcome to fellow life travellers. In 2019 we have had the great pleasure of accommodating the interstate Trailscape team during their construction of the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Trails. We are delighted to now re-open our accommodation to travellers for the 2019/20 season ahead. Towards a dignified sleep…Nook Hideaway will donate $5 from each accommodation booking to BackpackBed for Homeless (Email hidden by Airbnb)

We will be there to meet and greet and are happy to help with anything needed during your stay. Otherwise, our presence will not be felt. We are located at the other end of the property, approx. 500 meters away.
