Centrally located, yet just off the beaten path the tiny house above the falls gives easy access to Bangor & Belfast; & Acadia Ntl Park. A pleasant & relaxing spot to pause in between sightseeing jaunts. Enjoy the acres of daylilies, lilacs, peonies, swimming, & walks through the forest. Optimally the house sleeps 2, but with the couch, you can sleep 4. In addition, you can also book the Waterfall Cabin enroute to Acadia National Park, it is on the same property.

The space
The Tiny House: The combination of this adorable three-story Victorian-style Tiny house nestled in amongst abundant flower gardens at the edge of the forest overlooking the waterfalls, sets the stage for a wonderful stay in this natural setting. It's a great place to immerse yourself in nature and have a peaceful and/or romantic weekend getaway. If you need space for one or two more people, please see the listing for the Waterfall Cabin as it is a guest cabin next to the tiny house with a couch bed that sleeps two.

This sunny tiny house is delightfully cheery. The air and water here are clean; the atmosphere is filled with the sounds of singing birds. The tiny turret has bay windows allowing light to flow throughout the house. There are somewhat steep tiny house stairs leading up to the bedroom and down to the bathroom on the ground floor.

The main floor is a tiny house kitchen/living room with a cozy couch. Once the early morning sun comes over the hill, light streams in through the windows. You can view the upper falls from the front yard when the water is flowing abundantly.

The Gardens; imagine this:
It’s early morning, and so quiet, bird calls come and go with the arrival of the day. Awakening slowly, the waters splashing over the rocks create a harmonious background symphony; it is so relaxing. I feel peacefully rested after a great sleep.

And now, while I wander the grassy paths taking in the beauty that surrounds me the first rays of light touch upon the myriad dew drops hanging from every leaf edge; tiny rainbows glisten. A sense of wonder sparks my imagination and I feel like I ought to see Monet entering these gardens at any moment to set up his easel, and canvas so that he can capture this magical spectrum of flowers while the day is young. The Iris all around me beg for the attention of an artist's impression.

What luck to have come across this hidden jewel among the woodlands of rural Maine. Waterfalls, acres of gardens, and a Victorian Tiny House all captivate my imagination. I love that this tiny Victorian fits into the landscape framed within the verdant arboreal canopy. Memories of childhood frolicking surface, and I smile.

Close by is the Cabin with a more rustic atmosphere and a Maine moose motif. It has three West facing windows allowing plenty of light into the cabin. The falls can be seen and heard from the cabin.

In Monroe: we are slightly off the beaten path allowing you to enjoy the Coastal activities while staying in a very quiet rural setting. We are 15 miles from Belfast where you will find the Hills to Sea Trail starting from the town walking bridge. Here in Monroe, we have the Northern Pond hiking trail. Acadia National Park is just a 1hr and 16 min. drive. Along your way DownEast, you will find the Fort Knox and Penobscot Narrows Observatory which is the tallest in the Northern Hemisphere. The Camden Hills are 46 minutes away to the South East.

Where you’ll be

Monroe, Maine, United States

The Victorian-style Waterfall Tiny House Tiny House is tucked away at the edge of the forest, amid acres of gardens, and just 135 feet above spectacular waterfalls in the Maine countryside.

Today is May 10th, the lilacs and lily of the valley are about to bloom in unison more or less, and when they do they fill the air with lovely fragrances. The daffodils, narcissus are still blooming and the apple blossoms are just coming out. Between flowers and waterfalls, hey, I love it!

Visiting photographers have claimed that these are among the most beautiful waterfalls in the state of Maine. The falls are accessible by a trail just near the old bridge. This location is quiet, often silent except for the symphony played by the birds, insects, the falls or the wind rustling leaves in the trees. There are a few homes scattered here and there along the half-mile road that comes off from route 139 just outside the small town of Monroe, Maine. Monroe is a 25-minute drive from the coast and a 25-minute drive from Bangor.

Daylily Farm was once part of a larger family farm whose last inhabitant was the once well-known horticulturist, Phil White. While he was alive, this was known as the Hermitage Gardens where he bred, patented, and sold myriad hybrids of unique daylilies; hundreds of these varieties are still thriving decades later.

ShabdSangeet has been restoring these 4 acres since the fall of 2018. It is still a work in progress; so far loads of old junk have been hauled away, an old rotten building was dismantled and removed, overgrowth has been and is being cut down which is used to create hugelkulture beds for the organic permaculture garden. The garden soil fertility is being restored with no-till methods. A lot of food is produced in a small area. In the summer of 2020, the cucumber and tomato crops grew with outstanding abundance in the large greenhouse.

My name is ShabdSangeet.
I love flowers so I studied botany. I also love gardening, mountaineering, wilderness adventures. I am trained as a Reiki Master. I was inspired to make Flower Essences (Dancing Light Orchid Essences) since the 1980s. I am trained as a Functional Medicine Health Coach and practice living a healthy lifestyle so I can walk my talk. I moved from Alaska to Maine in 2018. I have spent much of my life studying all things floral, exploring the wilderness in the far north, and learning how to live peacefully among bears and other wild creatures in their wild habitats.

I often marvel at this amazing little slice of heaven I find my selves on. There are acres of myriad varieties of daylilies blooming all around us. It is quite spectacular.

One can't live without good health so a lot of effort goes into growing my own organic fruits and vegetables. When the garden really gets going I love to make fresh juice in the morning with a rainbow of colorful fruits and veggies.

I value having good health and so design my lifestyle to ensure I can eat homegrown food and use my muscles each day. I ride my bike, hike. I love the quiet of nature and was were thrilled to find such a special place like this!

When you stay I may offer you something fresh from the garden. You will most likely see me working around my 'farmlette', and I am available to answer questions and share conversation.
