Casita Verde is perfect for those that want to spend more time in paradise or simply come more frequently without the expense of a villa or beach bungalow. It makes an excellent home base to explore cenotes, cenote parks, the beaches all along the coast, Mayan ruins, Xcaret, Xel Ha, the choices are endless. The casita is 5 minutes drive (3km) to the beautiful beaches of Tulum or the Mayan Ruins. Enjoy the private patio and relax after a long day spent at the most beautiful beaches in the world. The windows are screened with pet proof screens so you can enjoy the breeze without the pests.

The house rental does include free, dedicated wireless internet to keep your friends and family green with envy as you share your vacation stories and photos.

The casita is located in a safe neighborhood occupied by an eclectic mix of people. From local business owners to Mexican families to expatriates from all over the world. The neighborhood is lively, but far enough removed from the center of Tulum that you do get some peace and quiet. You will still get vendors selling popsicles, bread, and other goodies that cruise up and down the streets. Each has their own horn honk, whistle or catchy song.

The casita is within walking distance of the brand new Chedraui grocery filled with anything you might need/desire. It is also walking distance to the bustling town of Tulum proper. The powdery beaches of Tulum are a short bike ride or drive from the house, 3 miles give or take. Beach towels are provided so don't waste your precious packing space. Or head 3km to the Mayan Ruins and enjoy ancient history. There is a public beach called Playa Maya that is located between Tulum Ruins and Tulum Hotel Zone. It has a long sandy beach, and is less populated with water that is calmer then the beach located within Tulum Ruins. There are some resorts and restaurants on this beach as well as parasailing. The beach at Tulum Ruins is beautiful with an amazing view of the Ruins. Life guards are also stationed there. It can be quite busy.

Bikes are difficult to maintain in tip top shape in a tropical enviroment The chains rust and the tires go flat.

BUGS
Take a look all around and you will see the neighborhood was cut right out of the jungle. There are bugs, bats, frogs, big grasshoppers, dragonflies, mosquitos, roaches sugar ants and all kinds of critters. For the most part you won't be bothered. But you will see bugs from time to time. It doesn't mean the house is filthy. It's just a fact of life in the tropics. We don't spray the heck out of things, but we do have bug bait and it really does help. We try to minimize our use of pesticides because the food chain. We feel badly that we could be poisoning the meals of frogs and lizards. But I promise you they are rarely seen inside the house. Especially if you take the garbage out frequently and keep food picked up.

Nice and simple place with all basic amenities needed for a stay. Centrally located at Tulum. Car can be safely parked in front of the house. Recommended for sure! Thank you!

Emmanuels house is located close to the busy city center but still in a quiet neighborhood. The free bikes are great to explore Tulum (beach, ruins, cenotes)

Close to shops, restaurants and a bike ride away from the beach, which is lovely. Emmanuel provides bikes & a lot of useful local knowledge which is great. Right in the heart of Tulum. There was free drinking water and all the kitchen utensils you could need - a kettle, fridge, plates, bowls, cooker etc. The bedroom was nice and cool, and the house was tidy. The kitchen and bathroom get very hot, as there is no air conditioning there and the fan doesn't seem to make a difference. The bed linen & towels didn't seem that clean and there were some tiny stains on them. There was no running water on the last day. An authentic & interesting stay but it would be nice if it was a bit cleaner.

Amazing accommodation. Wifi was the fastest we had experienced in Mexico so far, bikes were a big plus (used most days) and the place had everything we needed for our week long stay. Nice neighbourhood walking distance to shops, cafes and nightlife in town, and a cruisy bike ride to the beach! Air conditioning stopped working properly one night but was fixed the next day, with all other queries responded to just as quickly. Would definitely recommend

Casa Verde is a very nice place to stay, located in a local area that is safe and super easy to find. It is quiet and has two bikes that are very handy! Emmanuel is an excellent host, full of information on the area and very helpful. I definitely recommend this place.

If you are looking for a great budget stay in Tulum, this is perfect! Its in downtown Tulum in a quiet residential area but just 5 minutes walking to the main street (2 minutes on bike!). The kitchen has everything you need to be able to cook easily for yourself, the bed is comfortable and the wifi/tv work well. You are only a minute or two from the beach road so can easily cycle down to the beach too. Basic, but for the price (especially in Tulum) it's really great! Would recommend to anyone.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay in Casa Verde. The house was spacious and well equipped. The location was very convenient and we loved the neighborhood. A nice quiet alternative to staying in town. Emmanuel was a great host, even though we never got to meet him. He provided bikes to us for free with the rental, and when one of them was a little big for my 5' tall girlfriend he brought by a smaller one free of charge. I highly recommend staying here or in any one of Emmanuel's places. He knows what he's doing.
