The area is very spacious and the beds are comfortable. We liked the environment of the home and surroundings, is like we're living like the locals. The host lives right next door so it is very convenient if we need anything or ask them anything, yet we can have full privacy with the door closed. We were pleasantly surprised and really appreciate Gittan who packed breakfast boxes for us when we were heading out early one of the mornings, so we could eat our breakfast during the hour long journey to destination.

It has been a pleasure to stay at Hati Mas homestay. Pak Budi, Ibu Gittan and their sons are a great host. The homestay is clean and cozy, the breakfast is nice, the internet connection is good and the location is not far from the central. You can also ask Pak Budi all about coffee and nice places to be visited. We think those are the things why you must stay at Hati Mas homestay when visiting Yogyakarta .

Our group had a fabulous stay with Budi and Gittan! We felt like part of the family. They provided very helpful advice about scheduling activities and made sure we had an authentic and satisfying experience. Highly recommended!

Budi and Gitten were great hosts and offered us lots of information and also delicious meals. Rooms were very nice and our hosts were also kind enough to lend us their mopeds and explore the beautiful area.

Gittan and Budi were a pleasure to stay with. From the moment we enquired to the moment we left they were nothing but helpful, friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed biking around Yogyakarta and staying a bit out of town to see a different side of the town. Budi drove us around one of the days and he really made an effort to make sure we had a good day. They also both helped us order at the local warung which was so nice of them and then let us come and eat it at the house. The rooms were really nice and extremely clean and had everything you'd need, we also enjoyed the breakfasts! We organised a tour of Bromo and Ijen with them and this was a huge success, thank you for all your help. I will be recommending you and wish you and your family all the best.

Budi was really nice and kind and friendly and accommodated picking me and my friends up at 3am to go see the sunrise even at a very last minute's notice (we are quite on the go on the flow type :X). He also suggested a more interesting place to watch the sunrise and spent the whole day very patiently with us which we are very grateful for. The stay in the rooms were nice and clean albeit bit dark. I love the helpers who hung out with us, making us feel at home and even brought us to the neighbourhood's local famous warungs to try. The showers were a bit tiring as the shower heads were only pumping intermittent cold water so we ended up sitting underneath the taps to shower to get a better stream of water. But we are not in a hotel so that was to be expected. Everything was very nice and so we extended 2 more nights stay. The only problem surfaced on the last day when we checked through the itinerary Gittan had printed out for us the night before we were to leave, for all the extra charges we've used (scooter, drinks, extra nights). We realised she had given us discount in some places but also added on to some of the agreed rates plus some extra drinks we did not have. As we got back late the last night from visiting a friend I could only speak to her in the morning to clarify everything. As the costs were to be shared respectively among the 3 of us, all I needed was to confirm if it was a mistake or the rates have changed so we can split accordingly cause 1 of my friend left earlier. Instead, without trying to explain anything, Gittan flared up and claimed that I just want a discount like all Singaporeans. (I think that was really uncalled for) And went on blaming us for the early morning and using her husband for so long (it was never mentioned how many hours we could have with him). I was really shocked and upset that there was such an ugly argument over this as it was never meant to be my intention. In the end we left the whole amount plus some and quickly left. It is unfortunate it ended like that after such a nice and lovely stay. I think Gittan totally misunderstood and should just be more willing to explain the way she invoiced to be fair to us.

Response from Budiansyah:
Dear Jave, I've been thinking about responding to this feedback for some time now! Do I feel the need to explain this to my benefit? As all our other reviews to our place are so different to your story I expect AirBNB users to be smart and understand that there are always 2 sides to a story and off course your side benefits you more then it does me. I understand that and I grant you that satisfaction. To one fact thing you are correct though: Singaporean are lovely people!
