Welcome to The Beanblossom Apt. 3, your newly renovated home away from home in charming historic downtown Corydon.

A full wall of sliding doors leads to your private balcony overlooking Bicentennial Park, perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Cook in the kitchen with brand-new stainless-steel appliances and dine at the huge kitchen island. With two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, everyone will have plenty of space.

The space
This apartment is on the 2nd (and top) floor of a building built in the 1960s that was formerly used as a machine shop. Much of the décor was chosen to reflect this time period. The building is attached to another historic structure dating to the 1880s. Both buildings were completely renovated down to the studs in 2018. The front of the historic building has a painted sign that was uncovered during the restoration that states Emmett Beanblossom, which is how The Beanblossom got its name. Emmett Beanblossom was a local undertaker, and his funeral home was in the historic building until the mid-1900s. (Don’t worry, we haven’t heard about anything spooky going on from the tenants of the historic building!)

The unit has a washer and dryer for you to use.

There are two full bathrooms with showers (no tub).

The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, and blender.

The apartment is accessed by an exterior staircase on the side of the building. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the building, it would not be accessible/comfortable for those with limited mobility.

A large parking lot is located behind the building, so you'll have no trouble parking.

Upon booking, you'll receive a code that unlocks the apartment—no need to worry about keys during check in/out or throughout your stay.

Young children are welcome to stay, but we don't provide a crib, highchair, etc., so please bring your own items if needed. The apartment has not been child proofed.

Everyone is welcome in our apartment. LGBTQ+ friendly.

Where you’ll be

Corydon, Indiana, United States

Step just outside your door for delicious food at 1816 Modern Kitchen & Drinks and Bistro on Chestnut, a drink at Beaver Street Tap Room, coffee at KentJava Coffee Bar, or a treat from the 1950s soda fountain at Butt Drugs. (Yep—that’s what it’s called!)

Walk across Corydon’s historic square to take a tour of the Corydon Capitol State Historic Site, Indiana’s first state capitol building, and the Harrison County Discovery Center, a high-tech interactive museum about the area. You won’t want to miss the free glassmaking demonstrations at Zimmerman Art Glass, a local institution established in 1942. You could spend an afternoon visiting local shops and antique stores—all without having to use your car. Or walk a couple of miles on the Indian Creek Trail, a paved pedestrian path, to Hayswood Nature Reserve, a 300-acre park.

Aside from history, Corydon is known for its outdoor attractions. Indiana Caverns, Marengo Cave, and Squire Boone Caverns are all within 30 minutes of the apartment. O’Bannon Woods State Park is just down the road and has 25 miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. You can also rent a canoe or kayak at Cave Country Canoes and take in the beauty of the Blue River.
