Stunning newly renovated 1 bedroom off grid house with 360 panoramic views situated in the Northumberland National Park; which is a Dark Sky Preserve, making this the perfect spot for some star gazing.

Want to get away from it all yet have everything on your doorstep then this is the perfect location, close to Keilder Water, Forest, Observatory & Hadrian’s wall.

There are numerous lovely local bars, shops and restaurants, including an Award Winning Restaurant all within a 10 minute drive.

The space
To access the house from the road you can arrive either on foot, by bike or by car. There is a rough track with 2 gates to reach the house and 4WD is recommended. If you would rather not take your car up the track alternate parking can be provided along with assistance for getting your luggage to and from the house.

The house, garden, patio and star gazing deck are available for your use, along with access to all the surrounding hillside farmland, (dogs must be under control and on a lead)

There is a small lake about 5 mins walk behind the house and a further 25 mins uphill takes you to a stunning Rocky outcrop, if you want even bigger views!

At the bottom of the hill is the Boe Rigg which has a lovely bar and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The village of Bellingham is only a few minutes drive away, the ideal place to pick up provisions for your stay. There is a Co-op open 7 days a week from 7 -10pm a butchers, bakers, hardware store, fruit and veg shop and a garage. There is also a doctors and a vet.

On a Tuesday the local fish and chip van comes to the village, text your order and collect.

Other things to note
The house is surrounded by grazing land for sheep and a herd of Highland Cattle, who despite their giant horns are incredibly docile. The shepherd and game keeper will be working the surrounding land on quad bikes and during the season Hunting parties will be shooting on the land. Please familiarise yourself with the countryside code before your visit.

Materials for running the log burner are provided for your first night, additional supplies are available from the village at either the Garage or Hardware store- Broons Bits.

Location

Tarset, Northumberland, United Kingdom

Despite being right in the heart of Northumberland National Park the Market Town of Hexham is about 45 mins away. Durham, Newcastle and stunning blue flag beaches are around 1 hour drive away and the Scottish border is only 30 mins away, so a day trip to Edinburgh isn’t out of the question.

We are around a 15 minute drive from Otterburn, so can easily accommodate Wedding party guests or indeed provide a special first night location for the happy couple.
