This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath, fully furnished home 1-1.4 miles from Bethel and 2 miles from Simpson University.

It is a family oriented neighborhood that is safe and serene with little traffic. We are looking for peaceful, clean, non-smoker(s) to rent. There are two bedrooms (single and a double) available with a guest bathroom.

The room is fully furnished with a newer bed and bedding, dresser drawers, large full-length closet, ceiling fan, a work station, Wi-Fi, night stand, optional private phone line hook-up (your expense for long-term stay), a full-size guest refrigerator and a deep freezer, paved parking off the street, and your own semi-private entrance near your bedroom. You will have use of a washer and drier, a fully equipped kitchen, a fully fenced and landscaped back yard with trees, a shaded patio and a Barbecue for relaxing.

The room has an Ikea daybed that rolls out into a king-sized bed. If you prefer, one of the mattresses can be placed on the floor. The bed can also remain a twin-sized bed. There are extra large sized drawers built into the frame of the daybed.

Flat screen TV available in living room with access to Netflix, Hulu Plus and other options with Samsung DVD player with apps.

The home is a short walk to Bethel (1 mile through wooded green-belt trail and 1.4 miles via main street route, on Church Creek Rd). If you walk south on Churn Creek it is a close distance to the major grocery stores, the mall, and shopping areas on Dana Drive.

Bethel students without cars have been happy and delighted living here for the conveniences that this home has to offer.

Many Bethel visitors and students have chosen to stay here for two and three years because there is much to like about living in this convenient location and being a part of such a peaceful and friendly neighborhood.

Our host wasn't there but his representative made us feel welcome. The neighborhood was what we were expecting. We thought it was a bit unexpected that at the last moment he said they have a dog. Certainly would have been good info for anyone not liking dogs. My husband found several hairs in the bed. When I asked about it, we were told there was no breakfast, but then later the host went to get food and was very generous. I think the price was a bit high for what the place was.

Response from David:
We are sorry about your experience and appreciate your feedback. If you would have read the profile, it clearly states that we have a dog, Max, and even describes him in some detail. It is also marked that we do not offer a breakfast, which airbnb allows to be an option and leaves it up to each airbnb host to choose - many of which don't. We understand that the site name, airbnb, could suggest a breakfast, but it is up to each guest to make sure they read everything about the listing before reserving. These things would not have been a surprise for people who chose us after reading the profile. It's there for everyone to read and we're not hiding that information. On our side, it was not a 'last moment' thing to mention the dog. We just wanted to make sure you were aware, in case you had not read the profile, which it seems was not the case. Also, our pricing is in the lower range for Redding. We have never had any complaints about the rates. Perhaps the exchange rate from Canada to US makes it seem higher, but we have no control over that. Lastly, the linens were laundered and taken from the closet in prep for your stay.

David has been a very good host! We felt very welcomed and comfortable during the month we spent at David's house. He was always very helpful. David went to pick us up at the airport and showed us around on the next day. The neighborhood was very quiet and nice. And we could walk to Bethel Church in about 20 minutes.

Staying with Dave was a very pleasant experience. He is a great host and really goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and comfortable in his home. He made it his business to make sure you were never without food or lifts etc We connected with him in a special way and really felt like we have made a good friend in Redding. We hope to stay with Dave again on our next visit.

We were greeted warmly. Our host provided healthy snacks in our rooms and cold drinks in the refrigerator he placed at our disposal. He also had a few brochures and maps we could keep.We were given ample pantry space and shown where all the dishes, kitchen equipment, spices and cleanup items were and invited to make ourselves at home, of course with the understanding that we would clean up after ourselves. We were easily able to take care of our special dietary needs. Our host clarified politely in the original description that breakfast was not included, despite the name "Airbnb." We were fine with that. The house was extremely clean, and the neighborhood tidy, quiet, and felt quite safe. This was our first Airbnb experience, and was highly satisfactory.

I have been a university professor of music, art, and education with a a passion for world travel, outdoor adventures, healthy eating, and visiting the gym. I have also done all three years of BSSM (Bethel) and work in the first year program for a revival group pastor as a counselor.

I know Redding very well having lived here over 19 years and can show you around the area and find places you are looking for. As well, I will help you with some of your transportation needs while you stay here.

I am easy going, enjoy conversing with guests, cooking, chocolate, craft beer, and most deserts (hence the need for the 'gym.' I have provided rooms to rent for visitors for over 10 years and have many returning patrons from the USA and around the globe.

I particularly enjoy ministry and traveling the world. I have a heart for Europe and have traveled there many years by myself and leading students on tours. I have recently focused on seeing more of the United States appreciating its vast beauty, culture, cuisine, and history.

I maintain a clean and tidy home and will usually be out of sight most of the time. I like my guests to have space and quiet time to feel at home and be comfortable here. This is a place where you can have quiet retreat after your busy days at Bethel and around Redding.

The home is situated in a peaceful neighborhood conveniently near a creek, trees, trails, and shopping areas within walking distance. It is also in close to Bethel and Simpson University.

I invite questions before and during your stay to help solve your travel needs. Feel free to write me as you wish. Blessings and favor as you realize your dreams.
