Other things to note
The surrounding area of Mompiche is green and beautiful. There are many islands near by to explore. When the waves are good here, there are no better waves. If there isn't a swell there is an enchanting black sand beach to head to that always has surf.

Walking up the river brings you into a whole different world full of noisy monkeys, birds, toucans, parrots, in an exotic display of flora and fauna. Come check us out :)

Location

Mompiche, Ecuador

My home is the quant fishing village of Mompiche. We are tucked on the corner of a 40 mile crescent moon bay which ends at the point of Cabo San Francisco. From October to April it is a world class surfing point break wave. Mompiche is known as a romantic tranquillo beach.

In 2006, I fell in love with beautiful Mompiche, moved here and started to build my dream house. It is a five story bamboo house, built like a wedding cake. The top floor has a spectacular 360 degree view, with views from the shower and the toilet as well. I absolutely enjoy treating my guests to a tour of the town. This allows you to experience Mompiche not just as a regular tourist but as a part of the community. My favorite thing to do is create exotic dishes with local and tropical ingredients. Even if your are not a guest of Casa de Sirena, you can make reservations and enjoy dinner with all the trimmings in my five story bamboo dream house. If you're interested in learning to cook local dishes like Longustina Encocado (giant Shrimp cooked in coconut milk), you can come early to dinner and take a class! I plan to do a big spread for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve. Be sure to book early as there is only room for ten (10) persons.
