The Barn is a beautifully refurbished retreat in a quiet corner of the Lake District National Park. Built in c.1870 as part of How Farm, The Barn is a very comfortable self-contained space which sleeps two adults and two children. It has a small garden, unique open living space incorporating the kitchen and lounge, lobby, shower room and large bedroom.
The Barn is in a countryside location yet gives easy access to all the North West Lakes and the lesser known but very scenic West Coast.

The space
Finished to an extremely high standard, The Barn offers peace and tranquility with every modern convenience and is the ideal base for exploring the West Lakes throughout the changing seasons.

The layout is all on one level with an open plan living area which incorporates a well equipped kitchen, large sofa and TV; a shower room; a lobby where there is a washer and dryer; and a large bedroom with a king sized bed and a single sofa bed. There is also a small drying area/space for outdoor gear and a lockable bike store.

Though The Barn is the ideal place to recharge your batteries the beautiful market town of Cockermouth is only 3 miles drive away and Keswick is 20 minutes drive away. Both have a good variety of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. The Barn is well placed to access Buttermere, Crummock Water and Ennerdale, to name just a few of the beautiful local attractions and the stunning West Coast. There are plenty of walking, open water swimming, running and cycling opportunities virtually outside the front door.

With its high standards of accommodation and superb location, The Barn is perfect for a couple and their well behaved dog(s) to explore all the delights that the Lake District has to offer, whatever the time of year.

Guest access
Guests have their own small enclosed garden.

Other things to note
The barn is accessed via a farm track. we are happy for guests to bring their pet(s).
