Why rent a room when you can rent a whole apartment? Basic one bedroom, one bathroom ground floor apartment. Walking distance to markets and public transport with direct services to Darwin. Air conditioned bedroom and living area, tiled throughout.
Unit includes stove, large fridge (with freezer), queen size bed in the bedroom, air conditioned throughout. NOTE: A single bed is only provided for bookings of three and is otherwise not kept at the apartment.
The space is basic, but provides a convenient location when spending time in Darwin for work or a holiday. Crockery, cutlery & utensils, and basic cooking equipment provided. Some basic consumables (coffee, tea, sugar, milk, oil, salt, pepper) provided to get you started.
Guests will have complete access to the apartment, with use of the nearby parking space. The apartment complex has a shared laundry ($6 per wash) and outdoor clothes lines. There is also a swimming pool at the back of the building which guests are welcome to use.
NOTE: Unfortunately in September and October 2017 a nearby unit attracted two tenants whose fighting with each other caused significant disturbance to one of my guests on their first night in my apartment. I immediately cancelled the rest of that guest's booking at their request and issued a full refund, but unfortunately the guest still left a negative review.
I complained to the building managers and one of the problem tenants has now moved out. Presently one remains and is due to move out, but the issue has been resolved. My guests should enjoy a peaceful and pleasant stay in future.
Interaction with guests
Guest will have space to themselves and will be responsible for their own cooking and keeping the place clean during their stay (basic cleaning equipment and consumables are provided to help).
Basic kitchen utensils and pans are all available, along with plates, cutlery, etc. Good size fridge with freezer, great for longer stays.
No pets, no smoking, no drugs. Guests are expected to keep dwelling clean and tidy at all times.
I enjoy travel and try to get overseas each year, preferably somewhere I haven't been before - I've still got most of the world to see! I love good food, preferably down-to-earth home cooking. Unfortunately I don't get to meet all of my AirBNB guests, but enjoy doing so when the opportunity presents itself. I look forward to having you stay in my apartment!
