DOG OWNERS BEWARE: As Sarah mentioned in the description, the neighbor's dogs often come onto her property. Unfortunately, we had a very scary experience when a large husky and black lab ran up to us aggressively. At check-in, we were walking our dog on leash, around the property. These dogs were NOT friendly, approached us barking and showing teeth, and tried to bite our French Bulldog! I pushed the husky off with a stick before any harm to our dog was done. Both my wife and I were shouting at them and told them "No! Go home!" They finally did but all three of us were shook up. We notified Sarah immediately and she came over to make sure we were OK. Unfortunately these dogs belong to Sarah's neighbors and she explained there wasn't anything that could be done about it. The neighbors have a pen with dogs in it, and others free to roam. We saw at least 4 different dogs that came on to the property. Sarah said that this was the first time those dogs ever showed aggression and recommended that we shout at them to go home if we saw them again. On our second night we tried that approach again when they neared the property, but there was another black lab with the husky and he was not afraid of our shouting. In fact, he barked and charged at me. Luckily we were able to get our dog back inside safely. It was very stressful to take our dog outside because we feared for his safety. Even though this has no reflection on the Apple Blossom Cottage or Sarah as a host, we thought it was important to warn other dog owners. The cottage itself is a warm and cozy space, perfect for a stay with friends or family. There's a small general store in a 2 mile drive with everything you'd need including homemade soup, Mac and cheese, veggies and more.

Sarah User ProfileSarah is a superhost.

I appreciate good conversation over a glass of wine or cup of tea and a good loaf of sour dough bread. I am a full-time teacher of homeschoolers and enjoy dabbling in artistic endeavors. I love waking up in the Green Mountains, it is a slice of heaven. My favorite season here is Spring with its florescent new greens and new flowers opening everyday. It is easy to fall in love with Vermont; you wake up cradled by soft, rolling hills and can follow a meandering river to your next adventure!
