Where you’ll be

Mobile, Alabama, United States

Mobile is a colorful, vibrant city with an incredibly rich history, and we look forward to hosting your visit here! Boho House is situated along the live oak lined streets of Historic Midtown Mobile with its eight National Register Historic Districts and grand old homes. The local grocery, coffee shops and wine bar are a short walk, drive or bike ride away.

We are within walking and biking distance to a wide variety of shops, art galleries, historic house museums, restaurants, community parks, historic squares and homes. We are also located two miles from the LODA Entertainment District, farmers' Market on the Square, Mardi Gras Museum, Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center and IMAX theater, GulfQuest Maritime Museum, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mardi Gras parade routes, and Carnival Cruise Terminal.

For the outdoorsman, there are kayaking and sunset pontoon boat tours, airboat rides, alligator tours, standup paddle board rentals, guided fishing trips, and the Five Rivers Delta Resource Center. Sleepy Dauphin Island with its sugary white beaches and hiking and biking trails are only a 40-minute drive to the south. Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are an hour to the east. Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a magnificent 65-acre public garden and historic home located on Fowl River just 35 minutes away. If you are a birding enthusiast, Mobile is home to one of the largest migrations in North America and provides phenomenal birdwatching. John also happens to be a marine biologist and bird expert (and likes to talk!), so please feel free to pick his brain about the incredibly unique and rich biodiversity Mobile Bay has to offer.

We are a sailor/marine biologist turned historic home renovator ("John Rand the Handyman"), and a designer/marketing exec who now owns a French-themed, eco-friendly maid service ("Maids á la Mode"). Between the two of us, we've traveled to 49 countries, set foot on six continents, and speak four languages. Hey, this life's a short one! A Yankee and a world traveling nomad, we never would have imagined we would someday call Mobile home, and have completely fallen in love with her. If we're not on the porch with our pups and a big glass of red, we're probably out sailing or anchored up in a secret spot on Mobile Bay with the grill going off the stern. We've renovated this flat with tender loving care and hope that our love for world travel, the open water, historic architecture and modern design will shine through. Airbnb started as an experiment for us and a way to stay connected to the world and our love of travel. It's been an amazing experience and we haven't looked back since. We look forward to hopefully welcoming you to our home and our neighborhood soon!
