NEW! Fresh, pump water just off the deck so you can replenish your water supply as desired.

Hot water for cooking and washing can be made by either using: an induction cooktop, a kettle on the wood stove, or the electric kettle. Basins, dish soap, linens, and dish drying rack provided.

The cabin has a bar fridge, toaster oven, one-burner induction cooktop, and crockpot. NEW: Private use propane barbeque right off your deck!

You will love the accent landscape lighting along the path to the cabin and adjacent "Tinkletorium". I call them Fairy Lights-so keep an eye out.

In winter, bring snowshoes, (I have one pair of ladies and one man's size pair for you to your use), or your cross-country skis for added outdoor fun. Or simply enjoy a moonlight walk on, or along the river. Gather around the campfire (roasting sticks and wood provided) or relax in the hot tub under the stars.

On a good night, catch the Aurora Borealis in the northern sky. Fishing, kayaking in summer. A unique holiday experience over and above "Glamping." You won't want to leave!

Regarding Fishing on the river: I'm not a fisherman but my son-in-law tells me these are the fish that are in the river: Walleye, Northern Pike, Burbot, and maybe some Mountain White Fish.

Self-check-in is available for returning guests.

And yes, we have WIFI! and No, we don't have bears or snakes :)

These are the most oft-repeated first impressions from our adult guests after only 10 minutes into their arrival:

“I can’t believe I found this place.”

“Wait until everyone finds out about this…”

“Wow! It’s even better than in the pictures!”

“Truly, thank you soooo much for letting us come here.”
"It feels just like..." (B.C or Oregon, and even Nepal!)

And even though only two minutes have passed and we haven’t even gone inside yet…

“We are definitely coming back!”

And, "Do you do timeshare style commitments or anything? I absolutely love it!"

Some tender souls have even teared up…

I recall one mom who said to me, "I think of all the places around the world we have vacationed (alluding to expensive destinations, exhausting air transport, and commutes), and both her children exclaimed in the first hour, "This is our favorite holiday ever!"

And from the mouths of the children…

“Wow, can we just live here?”

“Look, Mom! They have a vacuum!”

And if you are thinking to come alone for some much-needed self-care?

The most oft-asked question is, "Will I be safe?", "What if I need help?" To which my reply is, "You are still on my property and within walking distance to my home. My husband eats bad guys for breakfast and no one gets to the cabin without passing by us first:) We are available for you if you need assistance.

And lastly, did you know that the first organ the heart pumps blood to is itself?

I say, “Go for it!”

A little blurb about me? Well, firstly, I believe that our environment profoundly shapes how we feel and what we do. My desire to create and provide the conditions for feeling joy, focus, peace, and connection to self and others explains how my two favorite places came to be!

If you're in need of some quality "forest therapy" and connection there is no place better than the Woodsy Cabin. (And what a treat that you don't have to drive for hours to get there!) Our Woodsy Cabin is designed to be a unique experience that is much more than just a place to stay. It is a place for connecting with nature, self, and others. I am beyond grateful to provide this place of serenity, grounding, and joy for the wonderful and intentional individuals, friends, couples, and families who have discovered this rare gem. They have brought joy to my life as I witness them living life well and taking time for all of life's special occasions, and sometimes just because.

My "Modern Luxury" listing has all the same qualities but just with all the comforts of home, in a city setting. I truly love every inch of this home, the sunshine, the design, and especially the sunny feelings it creates in me and others who have stayed there! It's like walking into a warm hug! It's always hard to leave!

Lastly, I believe that there are honest, amazing, and great people in this world and I want to share the little pieces of paradise my husband and I have created with them. I trust in the principle (and have witnessed it over and over again in being a host): People know what they need, and recognize it when they find it. Goodness always finds goodness.

I am friendly, fair, honest-to-the-core and fussy; meaning, I like things impeccably clean and well-taken care of. Also fussy, in that I trust and expect that any guest who chooses to stay will keep the house rules to a "T".

The things in life that keep my heart beating are creating, river walks, kayaking, biking, oil painting, gardening, piano, enjoying the four beautiful seasons. And ultimately, doing all those things with the people I treasure most, family and friends.

My goal in being a hostess is to bring goodness to the world by sharing what I have with others and my highest intention is to love every guest that comes to stay. And since the finest human beings seem to find us, it has been a cinch to do so!

I truly look forward to meeting you and creating a memorable stay for you and yours.

P.S Just to help you in your planning:

*Regarding the Calendar/Availability: The calendar on the site is current. You may trust it implicitly. Double-checking with me is not necessary and as the cabin books quickly, what you see is what you can count on for your inquiry at that moment in time. If you can't book the desired range of dates it's because there is a booking already in there somewhere which is making the whole selection unavailable for you to select.

**As it is typical to receive bookings every day at the Woodsy Cabin, and that there are rarely cancelations (thankfully), I just want you to know that if you see the dates you are interested in you shouldn't delay too much or you run the risk of them getting snagged from under you. And since I don't handle disappointment well myself- I just wanted you to know so you won't be disappointed either.

During your stay

After your one-on-one check-in experience, and after answering any questions you may have- you are on your own. That being said, I just want you to have as much privacy as you wish and the knowledge to manage without me. I have also made a thorough house manual with little tidbits of instructions to help you out as well. But ultimately, I am here for you and can help with whatever you need.
