The space
This is a non-smoking, no-alcohol/drugs, no-pet cabin. Designated smoking area provided outside. In the interest of keeping the cabin allergen-free- there are no exceptions to the no-pet rule.

HOT TUB AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND. The hot tub is a shared space (with my family) and is located off my deck. We always defer to guest use.

The cabin has a bar fridge, toaster oven, one-burner induction cooktop, and crockpot.

NEW: Private use propane barbeque!

No running water or built-in sinks inside the cabin. 2- five-gallon pump containers of clean water provided and filled as you need. (NEW! Fresh, pump water just off the deck) Countertop basins are used for washing and work well.

NEW!
3 piece BATHHOUSE! (Shower, flushing toilet and sink) Yay, for Terry! It is finished and it is glorious! (See pictures for details).

How to make hot water in the cabin:
Hot water for cooking and washing can be made by either using: induction cooktop, kettle on the wood stove, or the electric kettle. Basins, dish soap, linens and dish drying rack provided.

Wood burning stove for heat as needed.

Ladder up to loft has a weight rating of 260 lbs at a time.

Window seat (24"x69") can sleep one CHILD as well. (Making the capacity 7)

Privacy/room darkening drapery in the loft. Custom oil paintings and quilts. Games available in the cabin and a bookshelf plump with books for readers of all ages and interests.

We are child-friendly but not childproof :) Well-behaved, supervised, children welcomed.

Accent landscape lighting along path to the cabin and adjacent "Tinkletorium".

In winter, bring snowshoes, cross-country skis, or your snowmobile for added outdoor fun. Or simply enjoy moonlight walk on, or along the river. Gather round the campfire(roasting sticks and wood provided) or relax in the hot tub under the stars.

-Bring a swimsuit for hot tubing.
-French press coffee and tea provided.

On a good night, catch the Aurora Borealis. Cross-country ski, snowshoe in winter. Fishing, dirt biking/quading, kayaking in summer. A unique holiday experience over and above "Glamping." You won't want to leave!

Regarding Fishing on the river: I'm not a fisherman but my son-in-law tells me these are the fish that are in the river: Walleye, Northern Pike, Burbot, and maybe some Mountain White Fish.

Self-check-in is available for returning guests.

And yes, we have WIFI!

These are the most oft-repeated first impressions from our adult guests after 10 minutes into their arrival:

“I can’t believe I found this place.”

“Wait until everyone finds out about this…”

“Wow! It’s even better than in the pictures!”

“Truly, thank you soooo much for letting us come here.”
"It feels just like..." (B.C or Oregon, and even Nepal!)

And even though only two minutes have passed and we haven’t even gone inside yet…

“We are definitely coming back!"

Some tender souls have even teared up…

I recall one mom who said to me, "I think of all the places around the world we have vacationed (alluding to expensive destinations, exhausting air transport and commutes, painful packing), and both her children said in the first hour, "This is our favorite holiday ever!"

And from the mouths of the children…

“Wow, this is way nicer than our backyard!”

“Look, Mom! They have a vacuum!”

“Wow, can we live here all the time?”

Guest access

Other things to note
*Please be sure to have your profile completed. Specifically, that Air BnB has your government ID on file and you have uploaded your profile picture. Once your profile is complete you can "instant book".

**I will no longer be accepting booking requests that have only an email and a phone number.

*Regarding the Calendar/Availability: The calendar on the site is current. You may trust it implicitly. Double-checking with me is not necessary and as the cabin books quickly, what you see is what you can count on for your inquiry at that moment in time.
Life jackets for your use come in all sizes from infants to adults.

*A word about slippery roads in winter: As our driveway has a slight incline, if guests have only 2 wheel or front-wheel-drive vehicle WITHOUT winter tires- my good husband suggests you park at the top of the driveway and take the short walk to check-in. This only applies when icy winter-driving conditions exist and not for all winter days.

*Beautiful forested and landscaped yard available for rent for “dry” ( no alcohol/drugs) events in addition to cabin stay for additional rental charges. (ie outdoor wedding, day-only business meetings/ conference calls, and other celebrations.)

COVID 19 MINDFULNESS:
I will continue to offer our cabin during the current Covid concerns as long as it doesn't contravene the current mandates. I hope we can be a refuge for healthy individuals who must travel and/or and are looking for a secluded accomodation.

As we all work together through this unprecedented time, it is important to stay safe and be vigilant about our health. As a former health professional myself, I offer my continued commitment to providing a well-sanitized space for my guests, with my usual strict process of stringent cleaning regarding keypads, touchpoints, door handles, remotes, hand-washed bleached floors. I provide everything you need for excellent handwashing hygiene.

Of course, excellent COVID protocol hygiene is expected of guests. (Vigilant hand washing, covering sneezes, free of symptoms, etc)

At check-in, I ask that guests maintain a physical distance of 2 meters from me for our mutual compliance to the covid considerations.

At check-out- your help with new covid routines is appreciated:

Covid Check Out Protocol:
Guests are asked to strip the bed of the SHEETS ONLY and put them in the black garbage bag provided. As well, any soiled towels may be added to the bag. Please do not add the bedspreads or blankets. There is no need to fold remaining linens. This allows me to deposit the soiled linens directly for washing and begin bleaching surfaces as soon as I enter the cabin following your stay. Thank you for your help with this :)

As well, please tie up all garbage and bring it to the garage.

Thank you for your extra help in this matter.

A little blurb about me? Well, firstly, I believe in "forest therapy." There is nothing like a quiet, nature-filled getaway that you don't have to drive for hours to get to. That's what this cabin is for us and our guests. Secondly, I believe that there are honest, amazing, and great people in this world and I want to share the little piece of paradise my husband and I have created, with them. Our Woodsy Cabin is designed to be a unique experience that is much more than just a place to stay. It is a place for connection, with self and others. I am friendly, fair, honest-to-the-core and fussy; meaning, I like things impeccably clean and well-taken care of. Also fussy, in that I trust and expect that any guest who chooses to stay here will keep the house rules to a "T". The things in life that keep my heart beating are creating, river walks, kayaking, biking, oil painting, gardening, piano and enjoying the four beautiful seasons. My goal in being a hostess is to bring goodness to the world by sharing what I have with others and my highest intention is to love every guest that comes to stay. And since the finest human beings seem to find us, it’s been a cinch to do so! I truly look forward to meeting you and creating a memorable stay for you and yours.

During your stay
After your one-on-one check-in experience, and after answering any questions you may have- you are on your own. That being said, I just want you to have as much privacy as you wish and the knowledge to manage without me. I have also made a thorough house manual with little tidbits of instructions to help you out as well. But ultimately, I am here for you and can help with whatever you need.
