Our gated 2,800sf modern farmhouse has sweeping views. Close to Medford and Ashland, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Britt Music Festival, Rogue River rafting, and many fine wineries. Hot tub, deck, and internet add to this peaceful and charming home.
This farmhouse is beautifully situated to celebrate some of what makes the Rogue Valley so wonderful. We overlook vineyards, orchards, and pastures. The distant views are of hills and mountains yet the house is nestled in a fold of a wooded hillside.
Most mornings you'll either see pheasants or quail, and certainly plenty of deer.
The house has an open air plan so you can cook while still connected to your fellow guests lounging in the living room.
Entire house access with mostly full access to 24 acre certified organic farm. Varied terrain with hill pastures, woodland and fun walk-able access roads/trails to explore. Please stay out of any pasture currently containing heifers.
Interaction with Guests
We generally will welcome you in person. However, scheduling key pickup/drop-off by phone is ok too. More or less interaction as the guest prefers. We live at the far end of the property, about 1/4 mile away, and are readily available if you need something.
The farmhouse is located just outside Medford in a rural agricultural setting with easy access to Medford, Ashland, Jacksonville and many Rogue Valley attractions. There is nice walking on and around the property. Access to great road biking starts at the end of the driveway, turn left for hills, right for mostly flats.
Mostly by car or bicycle. 4 miles to the I-5 interchange. 15 minutes to either Airport or Ashland.
Active farm, do not disturb any animals
We enjoyed this lovely farmhouse, the weekend of Jan. 23, 2015. The only word I can use to describe our visit is "perfect." Thank you Cary for sharing a little bit of heaven.
Cary made us feel right at home, though we'd had a little trouble connecting via email, once connected he spoiled us throughly. We got farm eggs and cheeses at the door, breakfast yogurt, fruit and milk & coffee beans waiting in the kitchen etc.
The farmhouse itself was a treat and the pics don't do it justice. The farm land and surrounding area is beautiful. We were able to easily have 9 family members for Christmas dinner - Cary helping with last min kit supplies. We'd definitely stay again.
The stay with Cary was absolutely amazing, I can't say enough nice things about this place. We were in awe of how accommodating he was and by the end of the trip wanted to just live in the Farmhouse! The pictures do not do the residence justice, from the furnishings to the back deck, it really makes a trip to the Rouge valley a once in the a lifetime experience. I can highly recommend this to anyone, it is awesome.
We enjoyed our stay in this home very much! The décor was lots of fun and comfortable. It was spacious, offering seating areas for more than one conversation/activity. We loved the quiet, peaceful view. Finding local wines, cheeses, coffee, goat milk soap and other goodies to sample was a real winner! (several gluten free options such as crackers & granola were a hit with our family!) Bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were clean and inviting.
The kitchen needs some serious cleaning and updating. The dishwasher wasn't functioning (Cary promised to repair soon), and it was a bit difficult to do any serious cooking. (Not a problem if you eat out, but we needed to cook for our personal dietary needs.) We did appreciate the great coffee maker and grinder, electric teapot and bottled water dispenser.
The deck has fantastic views, a working BBQ, a hot tub and lots of comfortable seating. It is in need of repairs, but has some outdoor rugs that make it better.
We would return to this house in the future, as the good far outweighs the bad.
Cary's farmhouse is one of most beautiful places I've ever stayed. Every corner of the house is thoughtfully designed and decorated without being cluttered and it was exceptionally clean and comfortable. But what makes this place special are the expansive views of rolling hills and pastures from the windows throughout the house. If fresh air, a beyond cool place and a serene setting is what you are looking for, you won't find a better place to stay!
The house exceeds expectations. The setting is spectacular and the owners (Cary and David) have decorated and outfitted the house with an attention to detail that is unsurpassed. I have rented vacation homes all over the world and this one is high on my list of favorites.
This beautiful home was situated on the owner's farmlands and the views from the kitchen and large deck were a great way to start and end every day for our family. Cary was a great host and showed up to tour the house when we arrived...he even brought us local foods to sample and a bottle of wine on our arrival. The home has really cool and unique decorations and our favorite were the artisan light bulbs. We would come back again in a heartbeat.
I am quiet, friendly, active, and curious. I make cheese, love to travel, garden, bicycle, snowboard, explore artisan wine and food producers, music, art and architecture.
