We left the hustle and bustle of Florence and enjoyed the very tranquil and peaceful mountain cottage in Tellegrio! We loved the views from the sunroom and terraces – the views changed with the time of day and the weather. We loved watching the sun hit the villages on the other mountain tops, watching the clouds come over the mountains, and on our last morning we were treated to 2 fawns nibble on the grass behind a neighboring cottage. The house itself was very charming! We determined there were at least 9 levels to the house, so make sure that you can handle the multiple sets of stairs (sometimes it’s only a couple steps up or down to the next level). Some of the doorways are just over 5 feet tall, but it only seemed to add to the charm and uniqueness of the cottage! I love the stone sink and found the kitchen well stocked for what we needed. Very spacious mountain cottage with great views! We brought up the food we needed and did not eat at one of the two restaurants in town, so I can’t comment on those. We were only at the cottage for a short stay, and we used wifi to check messages and did not miss a TV or additional amenities in the town. We enjoyed the walks and views from throughout the town. As with many mountain roads in Italy, the roads are very narrow. Be sure to get your directions before you head up the mountain as mobile coverage disappears as you start to head up the mountain – and it’s intermittent once you get to Tellegrio. There are two sides to Tellegrio that do not appear to be connected by driveable roads – make sure to end up on the right side by the cottage. DO NOT use Apple Maps to direct you - we ended up driving down a glorified footpath and having to back down an already narrow road. Also, due to the steep walk from parking to cottage – suggest reducing the number of bags you need to bring up to the cottage to only those required. One recommended day trip from the mountain is the Podere Concori biodynamic vineyard tour – contact them in advance if you want to schedule a tour and wine tasting! We highly recommend Ciao Bella's Tellegrio mountain cottage for a true mountain get-away!

Debbie, such a charming review - you make me happy and envious at the same time. So glad it gave you so much pleasure and the fawns are a dream to behold- nature and man living peacefully alongside one another! Time stands still in Tereglio! So pleased you experienced it. Come back for another stay soon and for longer.

What an amazing house. We had a wonderful stay in Tereglio. The communication was the best I ever had at airbnb. You'll find everything you need in the house. Just take a bottle of wine on the terrace and enjoy the view and your holidays. We'll come definitely back. Thank you Bella for hosting our small family.

Staying at Bella's apartment was the highlight of our trip to garfagnana. the house had more space than we needed and was tastefully decorated. the upper terrace is a rare gem in a location such as this - the view of the ninth(!) century medieval village and the mountains is spectacular. Tereglio is one of the nicest villages we've seen, very warm and welcoming. the views and the nature surrounding it are amazing. the nature reserve just down the mountain "orrido di botri" is a must visit. we drove through it and reached Montefegatesi. "Da Michelle", the local family owned restaurant was one of the memorable places we've eaten in. communicating with bella went smoothly and she was highly responsive. the only thing one should take in mind is that there is absolutely no cellular reception in the village and it is recommended to pay for the wifi in the apartment. we highly recommend this property and would gladly stay there in the future!

Tereglio is such a magical town up in the hills, we really enjoyed our stay. We highly recommend staying here, if you enjoy beautiful views and piece and quiet. No complaints, everything went smoothly. There are great walks in the area, if you like trekking.

Gorgeous hilltop ancient village with incredible views of snow covered mountains. Little, windy, mountain roads are a little scary to drive on. The crepe place that used to be there was closed, so no restaurant in the village itself. A cute grocery has the only food in town. What a charming getaway!

We loved our brief stay here and wish we could have stayed a day or two longer. The setting is spectacular and the apartment very comfortably and completely furnished.

I live in England in Somerset where we do Bed and Breakfast from our Georgian townhouse. We also rent our little home in Italy 'Casa Bella' which is a home from home experience. Once you've stayed in Wells and have enjoyed this home, don't stop there = go to Italy and discover a gorgeous romantic hideaway!

We love the village of Tereglio and all things Italian including the people, architecture, art, landscapes, food , wine and music. You will find both homes crammed with art on the walls and art books on the shelves. You may also find 3 beautiful adult children at home who enjoy meeting new guests as much as I do! Hope to see you soon!
