We're fully booked through early spring, but there are are plenty of prime dates still available in summer and early fall. Hope you'll join us on the mountain during one of these upcoming months.

We think our property makes the perfect escape for visitors in any season. We hope you'll agree. All-Wheel-Drive is HIGHLY recommended for staying at the loft in the winter. Our private half-mile road can be a huge challenge in winter.

The space
Studio 502 is a separate space, above a garage - built in 2016. It is very comfortable and private. The open floor plan features a full-size bed, plus a comfy daybed. The kitchen has a fridge, microwave, small convection oven, 2-burner convection cooktop, coffeemaker and toaster. Plates, utensils, condiments, etc., provided. Sunny exposure and mountain views complete the picture. Built in the Craftsman style, the studio has a warm vibe and will offer instant relaxation.

The studio has proven to be very comfortable for a pair of long-term renters. If you don't feel like cooking, several area restaurants are offering takeout service during the current shutdown. There's also a gas grill for prepping outdoor meals.

Owners live on the same parcel (their house is about 100 feet away across the driveway) and can assist with any needs guests may have. If you want to be left alone, they will respect your wishes. If you would like recommendations for dining or shopping, they are pleased to offer ideas.

When it's time to get out and enjoy Catskill Mountain recreation, there's GREAT skiing at Belleayre Mountain - just 11 miles. Plattekill Mtn. in Roxbury is less than 15 miles. Unlimited state and city-owned land to enjoy just minutes from the studio. If you're in the mood for an indoor workout, the Catskill Recreation Center in Arkville is a state-of-the-art swimming and workout facility with very reasonable day-use rates.

Or, simply head out of the studio on foot and enjoy a pleasant walk in the woods or the stunning views afforded by a hike on the "Huckleberry Loop."

We are finishing up work on a new outdoor space, complete with fire pit and lovely sunset views. The perfect space to end a day in the Catskills.

Location

Margaretville, New York, United States

The studio is located just 3 miles from the popular Village of Margaretville - which offers dining, shopping, etc. The last half-mile to the studio is a private, dirt road and 4WD is HIGHLY recommended in the winter months. It's well worth the trek when you reach this totally private slice of Catskill Mountain paradise - surrounded by nothing but nature and mountain views.

Margaretville is one of the hottest small communities in the Catskills and features a range of dining choices like the Binnekill Tavern, Trattoria Locale, and Picnic!. Main Street is filled with interesting shops like Home Goods of Margaretville, Catskill Seasons, the Happy Giraffe, Kria, Main Street Jewelers, Barbara Alyn Art, Wildflowers, the Catskill Artisans' Guild, Catskill Candies and Confections, and a host of others...a fun place to spend some time.

My wife. Carmel, and I purchased a fixer-upper 17 years ago and an moved in after four years of part-time renovation work. We had previously lived in nearby Arkville for 18 years, but wanted to "head for the hills" after our daughter graduated high school. We built a Craftsman-style garage three years ago for use as a guest space and rental unit. We love entertaining and since we built our garage/studio, we have more guests than ever. It's really a "sweet spot" up here on the mountain. When the leaves are off, you can catch the sun glinting off the Pepacton Reservoir. Or, take a hike up or down the winding road that leads to our property and simply enjoy the quiet and the legendary lure of the Catskills. We have made great friendships up here - it's a really special spot and Studio 502, as we have dubbed it, is a perfect place to use as a home base - for a few days or longer.
