Welcome to The Phineas Handerson House, originally built in 1820 by the “the happiest man in town” Able Wilder. The apartment was the childhood home of the famous artist Abbott Handerson Thayer (1849-1821) and his cousins the Faulkner's. Google him he was cool. This apartment is old school and features two bedrooms, full kitchen/dining area, and full bathroom. The family room sleeps two on pull out sofa. Guests have a private entrance at the front door and off-street parking behind the building.

The space
There are two large bedrooms, one with a queen bed, a desk, dresser, and a large closet if needed. The second bedroom has a full size bed, dresser, and large closet. The bathroom has a tub and shower with a massage head. The family room has a 42 inch TV and a library of antique books and wireless internet. Finally, there is a kitchen fully equipped with an oven range, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, small microwave and includes any utensils you would need.

Guest access
The full apartment is exclusively available to guests.

Other things to note
Long term stays available with a 30% discount.

The apartment is in an historic home with traditional features and antique furniture. It has been preserved but not modernized. The tub is an older tub and slightly yellowing, but perfectly clean! Unfortunately the bidet is not in working order. Please do not use. The door in the kitchen leads to a back hallway that leads to a second form of egress shared with the other apartment in the building. It is to be used in emergencies only. The laundry room is a shared laundry room with the other apartments in the house. Your apartment key also works on the laundry room door. Please make sure that it is locked at all times. Well behaved pets are welcome, but we do ask that you add them to your reservation as an extra child guest. Pets are not to be left unattended in the space unless placed in a guest provided crate or something similar.

Expendables and Toiletries
For stays longer then five days, guest will be expected to supply their own toilet paper, tissues, soap, shampoo, coffee, spices etc.

Please keep the key in the lock box provided whenever you leave the house. Lost keys are subject to a $50 key replacement fee.

Items Left Behind
Please remember to take all of your personal belongings including electronics with you upon checkout. We are not responsible for any items left behind under any circumstances and while we will use best efforts to get them back to you we offer no promises or guarantees. You will be charged the respective shipping fee for any items left behind in addition to $25 for our time in finding, packaging and shipping.
