Location

Framlingham, England, United Kingdom

Visitors to Framlingham can enjoy a good range of pubs, restaurants, independent shops and cafés right on the doorstep. This historic market town was once voted as ’one of the most desirable places to live’, as featured in Country Life magazine, and with a perfect blend of culture, history and stunning architecture - not forgetting the castle itself (English Heritage), it is easy to understand why.
The whole area is great for food, whether you eat out or buy local produce at farm shops or local stores to prepare in the apartment.

There are excellent networks of walks and cycle routes meandering through the nearby, pretty country and coastal Suffolk villages.
The area is a fantastic location for cycling and has welcomed tours of Britain on a number of occasions. If you like cycling off-road Tunstall Forest has a Red course that provides a winding course through the trees and Rendlesham Forest has a less technical choice of rides.

Attractions very close to Framlingham are:
Shawsgate Vineyard at Bruisyard, Easton Farm Park at Easton, Saxtead Green Post Mill (English Heritage), Parham Airfield Museum.

All within 30 minutes drive are:
Sutton Hoo (National Trust) - 20 mins
Orford with its castle (English Heritage) and Orford Ness (National Trust)- 25 mins.
Dunwich Heath and RSPB Nature Reserve at Minsmere -25 mins.
The port of Felixstowe and its beaches with the foot and bike ferry from Landguard Fort to historic Harwich and Shotley -25 mins.
Snape Maltings - 20 mins, famous for Benjamin Britten’s concert hall which hosts a wide range of musical events.
The popular seaside town of Aldeburgh - 30 mins.
Historic riverside town of Woodbridge - 20 mins.
Golf courses at Ufford, Cretingham and Aldeburgh.

Suffolk boasts many country houses and estates for visiting, events, festivals or weddings including, Helmingham Hall, Crows Hall, Hevingham Hall, and Henham Park (Latitude Festival)

A little further afield, but still well within an hour:
The coastal town of Southwold (with its famous Adnams brewery and iconic lighthouse) which, with the adjacent village of Walberswick, have stunning sandy beaches.
The Constable Country villages of Dedham and East Bergholt.
The large towns of Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich and Colchester are all within easy reach for a great day out.
