Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
The surrounding nature provides a stunning and peaceful refuge. You feel as though you're a million miles away. And yet town is only a 5 minute drive, allowing access to anything you might need during your stay. We consider our land a sacred, healing place. Before we built on this property we gave special homage to the Native peoples, and asked for blessings from the spirits to live here. We have discovered grinding rocks, shards of Chinese pottery, and ancient fire pits on the land.

The space
The space consists of a luminous 26’ yurt and an attached building with a modern kitchen and bathroom, nestled beneath large oak trees. There is also a beautiful private outdoor bathhouse with a clawfoot tub and view of the creek. The yurt houses a very comfortable gel memory foam king sized mattress, cotton and linen bedding, and handmade headboard. There's also a queen sized gel memory foam sofa bed if you choose to stay with more than 2 people. (extra $50 cleaning fee for up to 3 days) BOTH STRUCTURES HAVE CENTRAL HEAT AND AIR

There is a spacious deck overlooking the surrounding woods and creek with a table and chairs, and right outside the kitchen is an outdoor Norwegian wood burning stove for a cozy fire when the weather's chilly. (wood provided for one fire)This intentional haven is a place for you to disconnect from stressful environments and reconnect to the natural world. There is a good chance you will see wildlife such as deer, a family of turkeys, ducks, squirrels, and owls. There's a private driveway and parking area.

Where you’ll be

Granite Bay, California, United States

Granite Bay is located about 30 minutes northeast of Sacramento. Close to both highway 80 and 50 it is conveniently located so that there are many beautiful day-trip options. It is a 5 minute drive or walk from Folsom Lake, which boasts countless hiking/biking/horseback riding trails and is a refreshing dip in the warmer summer months. The charming foothill towns of Nevada City and Grass Valley are 45 minutes up the road. San Francisco is a 2 hour drive, and Lake Tahoe is about 1.5 hours away (lovely summertime hiking and wintertime skiing/snowboarding). Nearby possibilities are limitless, however many enjoy simply staying on the property as a moment to relax and recharge.

During your stay
There is almost always someone around to help with anything. Send us a quick message and we will get right back to you. My husband and I live on this beautiful five acre property and will be there if you need anything, but we are also very aware in terms of giving guests their privacy. We are excited to share this healing property with you. For our mutual privacies, there is an area clearly designated for guests. We are both practicing professional artists and have exhibited our work nationally and internationally. My husband Mike is a blacksmith/metalsmith/sculptor and I am a mixed-media artist. Introductory blacksmithing and mixed media art workshops are offered onsite and can be scheduled during your visit for an extra charge.
