2,500 sq ft and a huge driveway make the Thomas M. Abell House perfect for both families and business delegations. Situated within walking distance to downtown Courthouse Square, the Robins Theater, and the Amphitheater.
Grocery stores, the Eastwood Mall, Mosquito Lake State Park, local bike trails, etc are all nearby too.

A ramp, day bed & downstairs bathroom with shower make the house wheelchair friendly.

The house has WiFi and all bedrooms contain SmartTVs.

The space
The house has 4 beds each sleeping 2, a pull-out single pop-up bed under the King bed, and a day bed in the downstairs study. Additionally, there is a full sofa and settee (plus bedding).
We offer a pack-n-play cot to guests who might have a very young child.
Please just bear in mind that the house has only two full bathrooms.

The driveway can easily accommodate over 8 cars for family get-togethers and/or larger vehicles for our business guests.

The Thomas M. Abell House contains vintage and antique furnishings, fixtures, and woodwork.
We want our guests to enjoy elements of a bygone era while living with modern conveniences. Please don't be afraid to touch … but we do request your respect.

The house is heated with hot water radiators. On the coldest of mornings they have been known to make a few tapping sounds as they heat up.
Plaster walls and ceilings mean that some cracks are visible, but we embrace these as evidence of its age.
Window air-conditioner units are fitted in the summer.
Rooms have ceiling fans.

Downstairs (wood floors):
[Ramp from driveway]
West parlor (Internet TV, sound system, over-stuffed sofa, 3 chairs)
East parlor (one 3-person sofa, one 2-person settee, secretary desk and chair)
Study (executive desk, WiFi printer)
Dining room
Kitchen (gas range/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, French press, kettle, mixer, blender)
Bathroom - wheelchair-accessible toilet and shower
Full porch at front with swing and seating

Upstairs (carpeted):
Bedroom 1: King
Bedroom 2: Queen (closet contains toys, baby pack-n-play/crib, baby gate, and socket safety covers)
Bedroom 3: Queen
Bedroom 4: Double
Bathroom: Tub/shower

The safety of our guests and, by proxy, our own family, is our utmost priority.

We clean the the house thoroughly and wash all linens after each guest checks out.
We use a combination of alcohol and bleach-based disinfectants, alongside of our steam cleaner.
Linens are washed with hot water.

Please let us know of any special considerations you might need, and we will do our utmost to accommodate your request.

We want you to feel as safe in our house as you do in your own.

Location

Warren, Ohio, United States

The Thomas M. Abell House is situated on part of 3 acres that we've pieced together in downtown Warren, in an area referred to as the Historic Perkins Neighborhood.
When the original basement was built in 1858, it was part of "Perkins First Addition to the City of Warren" - a time when Warren was first expanding.
In the 1880s, under the ownership of Thomas M. Abell, the house was more than doubled to make it what it is today.

We consider our neighborhood very walkable.
You can see the downtown library from the porch, a leisurely 5-10 minute stroll can see you at 'The Amp', the Robins Theatre, downtown eateries, cafes, boutique shoppes, or any of the local churches.

My husband (Frank) and I moved to Warren in 2006 from London, England. We have two children and an old dog. We bought our private family residence in 2008, followed 10 years later by the house next door (our AirBnB property). The winter months were spent living in the "AirBnB house" to find any issues and then we spent the next half-year making repairs, tweaks and updates. We absolutely love living in Warren and are proud to be able to share a showcase property with visitors! Frank is a beekeeper and I bake organic whole wheat sourdough bread, so chances are you'll be able to taste some items you can't get anywhere else! Looking forward to meeting you, Rebekah and Frank
