Great check-in experience

Located in one of the most known Cairo areas (El Abaseya). Placed in a relatively quiet street behind a busy local area between two metro stations, El Geish and Abdo Basha. By the window you can follow the daily life; people passing by on their way to work, school, shopping vegetables at the corner or praying in the mosque. Secondhand dealers and scavengers are walking through several times a day either by food, bike trailer or donkey cart. The exotic normal life of Caireen citizen. Cairo Soul.

The space
It's quiet, comfortable and cozy. The air-condition system is new and very good. two air-conditions are installed for our guest comfort. both air-conditions are warm and cold. the mattresses are very comfortable as we purchased TAKI mattresses the best in Egypt. The place is designed in a modern but still traditional Egyptian style. Cairo is wonderful city in which the area reflect the real Cairo for Carieen not the tourist places. It's almost near to everything: the metro station is only 4 minutes walking, supermarket 2 minutes, fast food restaurants 4 minutes, cafés, ATMs and bakeries are just round the corner, the fruit and vegetables are just in front of the building. The area is full of historical places its self. You can just walk around and discover.
However, one thing is not as we wished, that it’s placed at 4th floor without lift.
Our host can order help for carrying heavy luggages.

Guest access
The entire apartment. This apartment will make you touch the real normal live in Cairo which is different from Cairo Downtown busy and very lowed life. At the Same time its still close enough to enjoy being close to Cairo downtown.

Other things to note
Its a must that any guest will provide marriage certificate when for Muslims and Arab Nationalities, this is also the requirement if only one partner is Muslim or from the Arab countries. Egypt is an Islamic traditional country.
Egyptian authorities make checks as well from time to time to see that everything is in order.
We have secured that the apartment has water 24/7 by connecting a water tank to the main water line. This water is clean as we clean the tank regularly, and there is no problem to use it in the kitchen for cleaning the dishes and cooking as well. However, we recommend that you will use the water cooler for drinking and cooking.

My husband and I moved in summer 2015 to this house located in a special area of the city with it's own 115 year old history, which we are now restoring. However we are not new citizens in the area while we moved from another old house 300 m from here, actually we just started another decade. At the same time we became neighbor to our good friends and got the chance to share daily life, celebrations, tools etc. Gardens and gardening is our passion together with outdoor activities like enjoying the cold shiver in the sea 12 month a year, jogging in the special nature of the region, doing maintenance work for the local community and collecting fruit and berries. The World environment is one of my big concerns and therefor I'm constantly watching out for new methods to learn and do things better, for instance recycling, reducing waste of food, sharing private transport etc. I'm a teacher of Danish language at a large education center in Copenhagen where I enjoy meeting and working with people from all over the world. I have visited many countries through my life, and I enjoy getting as close to people and everyday life as possible while I'm out. My best experiences have definitely been those where I lived or visited people in their own home as for instance in Japan and Turkey. Not only new and exciting meals but the whole impression of a home and its residents gives me an invaluable souvenir still remaining many years later. We are all human beings - so individual, and yet so alike.
