Due to COVID I regret that this room is currently unavailable to book as a bedroom. If you would like to book to stay with me please see my other listing for my en-suite bedroom as this room is temporarily in use as a separate living/dining room for guests staying in my en-suite room.

The space
The room has tea and Coffee making facilities, towels (for use in the room), a hairdryer and televison. There is also a desk/workspace and a clothes hanging rail plus drawer space. There is an ironing board and iron which are kept on the landing for use of guests in both rooms. Each morning guests can help themselves to a breakfast consisting of cereals or porridge, toast and fruit juice. Everything you need for your breakfast is either in the fridge (which is in the hallway) or cereals are kept in the drawers and cupboard under the fridge along with plates and cutlery. Guests can use the fridge for their own food but please note that it is only a mini fridge and is primarily to keep milk and breakfast items. It is also shared with other guests so please be aware that space is somewhat limited. There is a further kettle and a toaster next to the fridge and in the conservatory is a microwave which guests can use either for porridge at breakfast or to heat a microwave meal during the evening. I do ask however that guests consume any hot food in the conservatory, although with breakfast I am happy if guests prefer to take this back to their rooms.

Guest access
Guests have access to their room plus they are welcome to use the conservatory in the morning for breakfast and in the evenings to sit and eat food and /or to watch TV. The conservatory has a dining table and chairs, a sofa and TV/DVD player. As I have another room which I let out the conservatory may be shared with other guests. There is an electric wall heater in the conservatory which you may use during the cold winter months. Outside of the conservatory is a lovely patio area with table and chairs (during the summer months) which guests are also welcome to sit at and enjoy either breakfast or food in the evenings el fresco. There is also access to the downstairs shower room which is shared with me. It has been recently refurbished to a high standard, with a new toilet, wash hand basin and a quadrant shower cubicle which is fitted with a thermostatic shower which also has a rain shower head. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Please note I regret that there is no access to the kitchen for cooking or to use the washing machine,

Other things to note
This listing is the second upstairs room in my home.

This bedroom is upstairs but the shared bathroom is downstairs (although if for any nights of your stay my en-suite room isn't booked you will be able to use its facilities).

I live in a permit parking area which is enforced Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm, but I will provide parking during your stay. If you wish to park your car on the day of check out I can supply a visitor permit but as I pay for these there will be a £3 charge for this.

If you require towels for beach/gym I am happy to provide them, just ask.

I can occasionally accommodate an early check in but the earliest time will be 2pm. I am however happy to arrange for you to drop off bags prior to this time.

PLEASE NOTE that I cannot accept requests for morning check ins - if you wish to arrive in the morning then it will be necessary to book the room for the previous night.

Location

Cornwall, England, United Kingdom

I am on the outskirts of Truro in a quiet cul de sac. I am a short walk to Treliske Hospital and there is also a local convenience store about 5 minutes walk away. New County Hall is about 20 minutes to walk. There is a lovely park with gym equipment and childrens play area around the corner and a short walk will take you into the countryside and I am also close to the main bus route. Although my home is ideally located for those working or visiting the hospital. it is also very centrally located for those visiting Cornwall for a holiday. There are various beaches all less than 30 minutes drive from the property and Cornwall has many tourist attractions all within convenient driving distance from my home. Closer by, Truro has a beautiful cathedral and you can take boat trips from Truro to Falmouth and St Mawes (please see photos in my listing). I have lived in Cornwall all of my life and I am happy to advise guests are places to visit and things to do.

I enjoy a lot of sport and recently started running and have completed a half marathon, a 10 mile race and a number of 10k races all within the last year. I enjoy travel and have used Airbnb several times both in the uk and abroad. I am now also looking forward to inviting Airbnb guests into my home.

During your stay
Please note that I work full time and lead a fairly busy life so although I will try to be available on your arrival if a late check in is arranged or if I have commitments then this may not always be possible. Unless you're arriving late at night I will however try to meet you on your arrival day, but where this isn't possible you will find all of the information you will need in your room, ie wi-fi code, details of breakfast, check out process, house rules etc.
