Welcome to The Vineyard Retreat, your peaceful, private escape along Essex County’s wine route between Kingsville and Colchester. This thoughtfully designed guest house feels like a private retreat, with its own entrance, outdoor living space featuring a hot tub, fire pit, and barbecue, overlooking a serene farmers’ field. Just steps from Lake Erie, you’ll be close to wineries, breweries, beaches, parks, orchards, and markets. It’s the perfect place to relax, restore, and reconnect.

The space
Although The Vineyard Retreat is close to incredible restaurants and wineries, we’ve equipped the kitchen for light cooking if you choose. You’ll find granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a microwave convection oven, two induction cooktops, quality pots and pans, cooking accessories, spices, olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette, and a coffee and tea station with all the fixings.

The living room features hardwood floors with in-floor heating, an HD large-screen smart TV you can log into (Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.), and a sleeper loveseat that converts into a double bed. Near the window, there is a cozy table and chairs that can seat two to four guests.

The bathroom boasts a large glass-enclosed shower spacious enough for two, with body-massaging jets for relaxation. Towels, a blow dryer, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and body wash are thoughtfully provided.

Through sliding barn doors from the living room, enter the bedroom with 11-foot ceilings and a king-sized bed dressed in breathable cotton linens. An iron and ironing board are also included for your convenience.

Step outside your door to enjoy the Hydro Spas hot tub, barbecue, and slate patio with a fire pit. A seasonal hammock invites you to relax and unwind during warmer months. It’s the perfect setting to soak in the peaceful surroundings and make the most of your stay.

You’ll have dedicated parking in our roundabout driveway, fast, reliable Wi-Fi, and self-check-in with a secure door code provided before arrival for your convenience.

Guest access
Guests have full, exclusive access to their private guest suite, including a dedicated patio where you can relax and unwind. Your stay includes exclusive use of the Hydro Spas hot tub and your own barbecue—no sharing required. You’re welcome to use our roundabout driveway for convenient parking. While we live on the property, your space and outdoor areas are completely private.

Other things to note
The Vineyard Retreat is a converted garage and breezeway attached to our main home. While the guest suite is fully separated, soundproofed, and has its own private entrance, patio, and parking, please note that we live on the property. We strive to offer you a peaceful and private retreat and are always available if you need anything.

Minimal firewood is provided for the fire pit; however, it is stored outdoors and exposed to the elements, so some guests prefer to bring or purchase additional wood. We do provide lighters and kindling to help get your fire started.

Please be mindful of noise levels, especially outdoors after 10 PM, as sound carries freely in the county. We appreciate your understanding in helping keep the space peaceful for all.
