COVID 19* AirBnB have being exceptional during these times in terms of keeping the community safe and well informed. They have issued an extensive cleaning and sanitising framework and guidelines for all hosts to follow. AIR BnB has a check list that I follow when cleaning and setting up for a new guest in these times which is detailed and very through . I will leave this in the Barn for you to see I have followed the advise diligently. It is worth noting that my “ Cleanliness” rating even before the pandemic was rated as Excellant . . . I will continue to strive in upholding this.

Guest access
Carlton Barn is separate from our home so guests have the whole space to themselves with two separate entrances. Our guests are welcome to explore the outside and take a stroll down the long drive and around the pond, grass meadow and woods to the left of the drive from the house. We respectively ask that the space around our home (the fenced garden) and tennis courts are for our own privacy.

Other things to note
We have 2 labradors whom are part of our family. They are country dogs and love exercise and sleeping in front of the Aga. You may hear them bark occasionally if a delivery arrives for us but otherwise they will be curled up either with me in the house or in their kennels outside. Please tell me if you would like the dogs to be totally kept away from you . . . . otherwise the occasional licking may occur. x

Nun Monkton, United Kingdom

Our home, Carlton Farm, is perfectly placed in 5.5 hectures ( 13 acres) of woods and grassland. Outside of our own garden you are free to wander and enjoy the peace and privacy of the land, during school holidays you may encounter the occasional free range child building a den in the woods.
Nun Monkton provides tranquility away from the hustle and bustle, situated 2.5 miles down a no through road at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Nidd in North Yorkshire. The village boasts one of the last 2 remaining working greens in the country, a populated duck pond, an impressive 27 metre Maypole and the beautiful parish church of St. Mary's (A grade1 listed building dating back to the 12th century, St Mary's church boasts a stained glass window by William Morris which is worth a visit if you have the time).
The Alice Hawthorn country pub in the village serves local ales, an impressive and thoughtful wine list and high quality, delicious food - booking highly recommended for food! Stop and sit a while outside here with a favourite drink overlooking the village green or cosy up inside in front of one of the log fires.

From April to October during the weekends the Nun Monkton Ferry boat, Bryan Ferry, takes visitors over the river to the edge of The National Trust's Beningbourgh Hall where you can enjoy long walks, Home Farm Shop & cafe and the quaint village of Newton on Ouse which hosts The Blacksmiths Arms and The Dawnay Arms

We have provided a seasonal pass for the ferry which you will find in the Barn.
There are a collection of local farm shops around the village but we are lucky enough to have Pool Bridge Farm Shop at it's entrance, Pop in and say Hi to Annette whose family have being running the shop for over a 100 years. The Tancred Farm Shop and Ainsty Farm shop both have cafes serving their own daily made dishes and are a short drive away.

Placed between the village and Carlton Barn you'll find the family run award wining Yorkshire Heart Vineyard and Brewery, alongside making wine and delicious ales they also host tours, food nights and events & festivals.

We are a busy family of four who love living in our secluded Old Farm House on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Nun Monkton. We are experienced property owners and landlords therefore the barn is equipped and finished to a very high standard through out. I will leave you to yourself to enjoy our guest barn but remain available if you need help or have any further queries whilst here. As a family we love nothing better than time to take long walks outside, Movie nights in, Camp nights around a bonfire or jumping waves in the surf. I look forward to meeting you.
