Bell Cottage is a light yet cozy space. The living area has a well equipped kitchen, dining table and sofa. TV, DVD player, books, dvd's, games and information leaflets are at hand. There is central heating and plenty of hot water. The bedroom has quality linen, plenty of storage and an ensuite shower. We are proud of our 5* cleanliness rating. A small garden is for your private use. Five minutes walk takes you to our local friendly pub. Ideally situated to explore Somerset, Dorset and Devon.

The space
Bell cottage is an annexe attached to our home but has its own front door to ensure your privacy. A perfect example of small but perfectly formed, Bell Cottage and its garden area provides a relaxing environment whilst close to the delights of the West Country. We have been running our holiday let for 10 years now so we have the experience to provide a perfect stay. We are situated next to the main road to the coast. It can be busy early mornings and late afternoon but it does allow you quick and easy access to Somerset, Dorset and Devon amenities. Cider and homemade cake will on the table when you arrive and milk will be in the fridge so you can make that much needed cup of tea after your journey. A comprehensive information booklet is well worth a read when you get here along with a stack of information leaflets about what to do and where to go.

Guest access
A parking space is right outside the door. There is a gravel garden with a table and seating and parasol for your own sole use.

Other things to note
The garden is gravelled with plants and shrubs but not suitable for infants. There is no front gate. The drive exits straight onto the road.

Our friendly village pub serving home cooked food is 5 minutes walk away and there is a shop in the village. We are surrounded by the Dorset countryside with wonderful views from Bell Cottage. Although we are in a rural village, access to towns and villages is easy. We have had guests bring their bikes; birdwatchers and serious walkers. Forde Abbey, Tintinhull, East Lambrook and Abbotsbury Gardens are some of the outstanding gardens to visit. Stourhead, Kingston Lacey, Montacute Barrington Court and Hardy's Cottage are some of the National Trust properties that can be done in a day. The coast is just 30 minutes drive. Almost everyone visits West Bay (Broadchurch location) and Lyme Regis which retains its traditional seaside atmosphere. The Jurassic Heritage coast has numerous fishing villages to visit with either a pub or cafe serving the freshest fish and seafood. Crewkerne just a few miles away is developing into an antiques town. Sherborne likewise with the added bonus of its pretty high street excellent eateries and the impressive Sherborne Abbey. If you enjoy eating out - as we do - the list of excellent restaurants, pubs and tea rooms is endless. There are two award winning restaurants in Beaminster just 3 miles away in addition to Mark Hix in Lyme Regis and The Stable for pizza in Bridport.

Hello future guests! I am Lynne, a retired infant teacher with a retired husband, two grown up children and 4 young grandchildren. My husband and I like to travel and enjoy eating out. We are lucky to have some amazing restaurants close by. We have a large garden which we spend a lot of my time in. I am a ‘lady who lunches’ with lovely friends! I love music, quizzes and reading. I love to make things: knitting, sewing, jewellery cards...We have had our holiday cottage with an agency for the least 8 years but now want to have a bit more freedom to travel and enjoy spending time with our grandchildren. Those 8 years have given us the experience to give our guests a perfect holiday in Dorset. Our cottage is clean, comfortable, attractive and you will be welcomed with homemade cake and cider from a farm a few miles away. We like to provide everything you might need from milk in the fridge to detergent for the washing machine. We look forward to meeting lots of new people now we are on Airbnb.
