The space
This charming cottage has a lot to offer! With close beach access and all the comforts of home, you'll want to spend every extra weekend in this beautiful house. Nestled in a neighborhood about three blocks east of beach access at Devils Punch Bowl State Park, this home is in Otter Rock, 10 minutes north of Newport. The house is a pleasant 3-5 minute walk to the Devil's Punch Bowl Overlook which is one of the premiere sites to whale watch and is next to Mo's Seafood (open seasonally) and a wine shop.

Taking the stairs to the south of the parking area will put you on one of the most popular surfing beaches in Oregon with miles of beach walking, and plenty of sand for castle building! You can rent surfboards, gear, and pay for surfing lessons at Pura Vida Surf Shop.

A short walk north of the parking area will deposit you at the Otter Crest Marine Gardens with tidepooling, access to the Devil's Punch Bowl, agate searching, and a harbor seal population. Sea life abounds and your kids will never be bored. We provide sand toys, beach towels, and two boogie boards at the cabin for your use.

With a warm and welcoming interior, recently remodeled in the farmhouse coastal style, you are sure to find this home relaxing. High vaulted, exposed wood ceilings, colorful furnishings, and an inviting style will help you feel right at home. Two sitting areas with TVs and cozy couches offer great places to relax and read a book or watch your favorite TV shows (Amazon Prime, Netflix, and HBOgo are provided). The kids bunkbed room Has its own TV so kids and adults can each have their own time. The house has WiFi access, board games, puzzles, coloring books and supplies, and even a laundry area that will come in handy if your clothes need any freshening up.

A full kitchen perfect for entertaining, offers all the basic appliances and cooking tools you may need. We have a blender, crockpot, dishwasher, and a set of copper mugs for your cocktail pleasures. We also provide the basics in terms of flour, sugar, baking, spices, and oils. There's a 6-8 seat dining table with built-in storage bench where everyone can sit and enjoy a nice, home-cooked meal. Upstairs is the kid's bunkbed room, with two twin beds (top bunks) and two full-size beds (bottom bunks). The sofa pulls out to a queen size bed if needed. Up to 6 people can sleep comfortably and, depending on willingness to share full beds and open up the sofa bed, the space can accommodate up to 10 . . . but living space would be pretty tight :)

This updated home is a perfect size for a small family, 2-3 couples traveling together, or a group of 6 friends who want a laid-back beach getaway. With the spectacular Devils Punch Bowl just down the road, miles of coastline to explore, and plenty of coastal towns within a short drive, you will never run out of things to do here! See "Neighborhood" section and pictures for all of our favorite things about the area.
