1 of 5 self contained cottages. Great for walking, fishing, biking or simply getting away from it all. Situated 2 miles from the beautiful market town of Llanidloes where you will find supermarkets, pubs restaurants and a swimming pool.

The space

A 2 bedroom cottage nestling on the easterly slopes of an unspoilt valley. Glyngynwydd is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty amid mountains, hills, lakes and rivers. South of Llanidloes we stand in twelve acres of land which include; woodland, a wildlife pond, meadow, relaxing gardens and our own stream and dingle for our guests to enjoy.

Guests have the cottage to themselves and there is space for parking. A small stream runs along the front of each cottage with a little footbridge providing access to your door. A pathway leads to the garden and barbecue area. There is also a fully equipped laundry room with barbecue equipment and ball games. Unfortunately the cottages are not suitable for wheelchair access.

We enjoyed the lovely grounds and location as well as the chickens and ducks giving added farmyard atmosphere! Carla was very welcoming and helpful, giving good advice about where to eat locally.

A lovely break away for a few nights in mid wales. The cottages are clean, spacious and well-equipped. We were greeted by the pet dog and several ducks which my baby daughter found hilarious! We were given a choice of 3 cottages as I had asked about specific requirements due to travelling with a baby but the original suggestion was perfect. Plenty of space for a cotbed and the added bonus of blackout blinds on the windows! We were even offered a highchair to borrow. We stayed in January and although it was cold when we arrived, there were several electric heaters as well as a storage heater. The coal stove in the lounge was lovely at night. The cottages are perfect for a group of families as they are all next to each other and there is a communal stable as well as plenty of space outdoors. Would love to come back when the weather is warmer and our little one is older!

Carla was very welcoming. There was even a Bara Brith waiting on the table when we arrived! A beautiful setting, and we enjoyed an evening at the fire pit where we toasted marshmallows and crumpets. Fab!

We had a really lovely stay in the cottage and although Carla left to go away herself, she was there to greet us and left us in capable hands. We even found a gorgeous home baked Welsh cake waiting in our cottage! The cottage was clean, warm and attractive, the beds were cosy and the grounds were beautiful. My sister forgot some bits but Carla even lent us a spare high chair and cot. Plenty to see nearby and we enjoyed barbecues in the evening. I'd love to stay again, thank you so much for a fantastic time.

My family and I moved from Surrey in January 2014 having decided to try something different. At the moment we have 3 children, 1 dog, 8 chickens and are hoping to get some piglets soon! We're loving our new home in Llanidloes and have met some great people here both locally and through Airbnb.
