The space
The Peace on the Pungo Guest House, built in 1927, has been renovated to embrace its rich history and natural beauty. The master bedroom (named Church Creek View room) faces Church Creek. There is a queen-sized storybook bed in this room along with two beautiful pieces of stained glass from churches in the area. The master bedroom has a television in the closet. Each nightstand by the bed is 1/2 of an antique vanity. They are Chippendale Revival style and painted a relaxing coastal white. The rocking chair in the room is a family heirloom and over 100 years old. We invite you to enjoy unwinding in this calm and restful space. The smaller bedroom (named Marsh View Room) has a full-sized bed and is beautifully decorated in black and white with pops of color. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing your favorite meal. Bring food with you. Hyde County is one of the most remote counties in North Carolina and you will staying almost 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store. The front porch has been closed in to a cozy sunroom. There is a twin bed in that room. Natural light floods this room and is a great spot for curling up with a good book!

Other things to note

Makelyville is a very small village situated at the corner of Slades Creek and Church Creek. There was once a large lumber mill operation run by George Makely. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking. Sit back. Relax. Unwind.
