65 acres to yourself in lovely Prince Edward County - one of Ontario's beautiful wine regions and home to Sandbanks Provincial Park. Enjoy a comfy 3 bed, 2 bath country cottage, hikes in forest, 10 wineries less than 10 minutes away! Great for families with or without pets, couples and groups of friends. Extra Covid measures taken: sanitization of knobs, lights and railings plus extra spray and wipes kept at the house.

The space
A partially newly renovated country-chic cottage with two bedrooms upstairs (king size bed in the master suite along with futon; queen bed in the second bedroom) and one bedroom downstairs (with a king bed and ensuite). Full size dining room for 6, fully equipped kitchen and cozy new wood burning stove with ready cut wood in living area. We don't have a proper living room but both king rooms have their own TV systems.

The perfect country getaway - whether you want to curl up and read, explore the great outdoors in private, suntan or BBQ on the huge back deck or enjoy all The County has to offer. We have 5 adult bikes and a kid's trailer as well. Great for couples, friends and families.

What we provide: linens, towels, toiletries, kitchen supplies, cooking supplies, filtered water, coffee, tea and condiments as well as kid's books, toys, towels and indoor/outdoor games.

What to bring: fresh foods especially milk, eggs and butter (if needed), specialized items, beach towels, slippers and kid's baby gate, potty and booster seat as needed.

**Please note the kitchen and living area are extremely outdated and in need of renovation - just like we have done with the rest of the house - but won't be completed for another year or so. The upstairs is completely newly renovated as well as the downstairs king suite and bathroom. We will be installing AC in the late spring.**

Guest access
Sleep in and wake up with the sun. Enjoy your morning cup and let the day melt away. Perhaps a hike through the forest? Hang out by the creek or on the massive deck? Take a walk to the beaver pond, play catch, kick a ball, enjoy the great outdoors. Bike ride to nearby wineries (more than 10 within 5km), a cidery or to nearby North Beach on Lake Ontario and the charm of the Village of Wellington for excellent restaurants. Or discover your own little secret part of The County - the possibilities are endless.

Other things to note
If you want to explore all the property has to offer, best to bring a pair of rubber boots. Bug spray and sunscreen are a safe bet if you're going to be outside for awhile. There are 5 adult bikes for your use along with a bike trailer (that holds 2 small children) for the little ones.

We have a seasonal provincial park pass at the cottage for access to nearby Sandbanks, North Beach and Presquile Parks valid from Apr-Nov.

Our cottage is old and quaint. The upstairs is fully renovated but the main floor is still being worked on. We ask for your understanding while we improve our 1872 built farmhouse! We are providing a quiet, fun and relaxing cottage away from it all.

We have a well stocked kitchen with all dishes, cookware etc and canned goods, condiments, coffee/tea but because we are not at the house full time we can not stock perishables so please bring your own fresh foods, butter, milk, eggs etc.

Note - Every autumn the nearby wineries utilize bird bangers to deter the bird from eating the grapes. This is necessary but annoying and totally out of our control. The cannons go off sparingly from 7am-8pm from Sep-Oct.

Closson Road is easily accessible off of Hwy 401 Wooler Rd exit onto Loyalist Parkway (Hwy 33). You'll pass by a number of wineries along the way, all of which are worth a visit. One of our favourties is Hinterland, just 400m away - specializing in sparkling wines. Pickup a bottle and celebrate your getaway. About 500m past our place is The Grange - one of the best. Just a 5 minute drive away is Karlo winery, a lovely place to hear live music, experience a vegan winery and grab a snack (and wine, of course). Lots more to discover - wine maps posted in the cottage.

Looking for a special meal - check out East & Main in Wellington or the newly opened and often packed Drake Devonshire - some of the best dining experiences you'll have anywhere. North Beach is a great way to spend a hot summer afternoon, go antiquing in Bloomfield, or explore further afield and discover all The County's charms.
