Where you’ll be

Cobourg, Ontario, Canada

Shining Bee Guest House is approximately 8 to 10 minutes from downtown and the lovely beach. Many small restaurants line the streets of the town and beginning in the autumn there are concerts, plays and many other cultural and sports events. Summer brings it own type of fun with street markets, buskers and more. The waterfront is excellent with a sand beach that slopes gently out for quite a long way into the water. We are close to the Ganaraska Forest Centre where you can find a zip line adventure and very close to the Northumberland Forest for long peaceful walks. Art galleries, artisans, farmers' markets and more are here.

I enjoy learning, books, being out of doors and congenial company. I have two dogs and two cats who will greet guests from time to time. I am an academic and mediator as well as a bee keeper. I sing in a large community choir and I am active within the community on various Boards. I've traveled fairly extensively and hope to do more. I was in Italy two years ago and would go again in a minute. I can help guests find good restaurants, will steer them to some of the cultural events in the community and surrounding area and can help them find some of the outdoor adventure that is in this area. I think every room in the house has a large or small bookshelf and the outside deck and yard are ideal for reading, contemplating or drinking wine!
