This "authentic" open- concept log cabin was designed and erected by my later husband. He single-handedly built this cabin from the trees grown on the property. Each log was selected, stripped of the bark and then set into place with a team of draft horses. The beautiful cross timber beams are more than 3 stories tall. This log cabin was built the old-fashioned way- highlighting the true beauty within. The rustic wrapper encases a warm and cozy space that is filled with luxury you do not expect to find when you are renting a cabin. The pictures do not do it justice! (Need more space? *There are 3 extra large bedrooms: the master bedroom has a large high end king size bed adorned with luxurious linens and pillows that will change the way you sleep at night.
The 1st floor bedroom has 2 queen beds that continue the luxurious sleeping experience throughout the whole cabin. The 2nd floor bedroom has 2 queen beds and 1 day bed. All bedrooms have their own private bathroom.
*The dream bathrooms are something straight out of a magazine! The master bath features a stand alone bath tub with hand held shower, custom glass shower with rain shower head and dual vessel sinks over a large granite slab that had to be hoisted through the balcony door. Each bathroom is loaded with soft plush towels. The professional quality supplies will elevate your entire experience.
This cabin has all the modern amenities you want in your own dream home, all wrapped up with trees from the land. Its unique, one of a kind and luxurious.
*The kitchen was designed as a respite and a gathering place for family and friends and is fully stocked with every thing you need to whip up those favorite snacks and meals.
- It is equipped with all the amenities on your dream kitchen list; dual wall ovens, all stainless appliances, farmhouse sink, ceramic 5 burner cook top with a pot filler, a large center island with breakfast seating for 4 and the list goes on and on.

This cabin is THE destination with offerings you will not find all in one space anywhere else. Shoot a game of pool with a view of the property from every window. Enjoy an outdoor fire for roasting marshmallows and sharing stories. At the end of the day, take a soak in the hot tub under the stars.
The family room has one HUGE couch that is perfect for social distancing while you relax. The indoor fireplace sets the mood for a great evening of relaxation. We even provide the firewood!

If you would rather put more space between you, the outside activities include a fire pit, hiking, fishing, playing outdoor games like corn hole to start. I bet you have not smelled this fresh country air before!
-If you want to venture out into the immediate area, try exploring the great county park systems here, you can visit a 25 ft waterfall or hike the many trails available. There is something for everyone.

I want to proactively address 2 points that are pivotal to the way we conduct ourselves as your hosts:
1) Our main foundational principle; ALL guests will be treated with the dignity, respect and inclusion they deserve. Furthermore, every guest is entitled to their privacy. We place the safety and security of our guests first at all times. Everything we do will be with the aforementioned principles in mind.
2) We have always held ourselves to a higher cleaning standard. However, 2022 has brought about the safety conscious traveler. As a result, we implemented an even more rigorous cleaning and sanitizing protocol that includes intense attention and controls over high touch surfaces like door knobs and light switches. We elevated our processes and want to appeal to those travelers who desire those extra precautions to make the spaces “safer destinations”.

We are located 4 miles from the village of Bladensburg. There’s a gas station, two restaurants and post office. It has that country or "middle of nowhere" feel. But, you are closer to civilization than you think. We are on the outskirts of a large Amish community that carries you all the way to Millersburg. So, you will likely encounter Amish during your stay or drive in. The drive will consist of corn and soybean farms. Ohio is the sole provider of all the popcorn us Americans eat. So, enjoy the view of your next bag of popcorn growing in the fields.

My late husband, Frank Stahl, and I started hosting 17 years ago with our flagship property, The Weston House. We added our second cabin, The Jug Run Lodge, in June of 2019. We have been proud hosts with Airbnb since 2016. Both of our cabins are located in Knox County Ohio, less than a mile from one another. Our attraction is to those guests who want to experience nature and the outdoors. Both cabins offer more than 50 acres of privacy, seclusion and space to walk around. We pride ourselves in being one of the only properties that are pet friendly! There are multiple large stocked ponds by which to enjoy bass, bluegill and perch fishing- all without needing a fishing license. We provide popular outdoor games, a large outdoor fire pit where you can gather as a group and roast marshmallows. There is a hot tub at each cabin to enjoy year round. Nothing beats sitting on the front porch enjoying the scenic countryside views while watching the hummingbirds during the summer. This is the ultimate backdrop to the cabin experience we all daydream about.

We offer professional- level amenities, appliances and finishes. The cabins are visually stunning and are impeccably maintained. The furniture and fixtures are beyond clean and beautifully styled. When I describe the cabins as fully equipped, I mean they contain everything you want to find when away from home. The one thing that sets us apart from others is that attention to detail you do not find anywhere else but in 5 star hotels or spas.

**We maintain the strictest of cleaning and sanitizing protocols that are aimed at eliminating the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses. A copy of these protocols are provided at the time of booking**

We are not the typical vacation rental property, we raise the bar so you will be delighted at the smallest of details. Hosting is my full time job- that makes every guests’ happiness my #1 goal. I have a great support team, along with my co-host Tracey. She and I strive to provide every guests with a 5- star experience that they paid for.
