Our lovely Regency family home is a listed building, 30 seconds from the beach - & right on the border with Hove. We’re really close to fabulous shops, cafes & restaurants. 3 double bedrooms spread across 5 floors easily sleep 6 - enjoy stunning sunsets from the roof terrace & fires in winter! The elegant, spacious designer kitchen is a great place to cook and relax.

The space
Our lovely home is organised over 5 floors - a bedroom on each of the top floors, one with a roof terrace; another with an ensuite shower room; the main bedroom is next to the beautiful main bathroom with walk in double shower & claw foot iron bath. The top 2 bedrooms are my sons' rooms: both have double beds and the top bedroom has a sofa where my son's friends often sleep.
Please be aware that the stairs are narrow and might be tricky for people with mobility problems (sadly my home is not accessible for wheelchair users).
We have a stunning designer kitchen with all the equipment you could need to cook up a storm.
In the large living room there is Sky TV, a music system, tons of books and lots of board games. It also has a comfy day bed and a huge sofa which you are welcome to use (please take bedding from the utility room) if you want to camp out (or escape a snoring partner!).

Guest access
Please make yourself at home. Feel free to enjoy books, music, DVDs, boardgames, electronic games - just don't take them home! We'll leave you basic foodstuffs and toiletries, as well as plenty of fresh linen & towels of course. And do enjoy making use of the fully equipped kitchen, laundry etc.
The study - and the wine fridge! - are out of bounds.
Please no hen or stag parties etc. This is our home - not a party place.
Check with us in advance if you are planning a special celebration so we can figure out if this will work for you, or we can recommend other places nearby.
We may be able to accommodate an extra person or 2 if they are happy to sleep on the sofa. I will ask for a small additional payment for that

You are so close to the sea - if the weather is kind, enjoy evenings barbecuing next to the water, or just wander down with your morning cup of coffee. There are lots of marvellous cafes and restaurants nearby (we'll leave a list with our favourites - several of which are on our street). You are 1 minute's walk from Western Road - the main shopping street - and another 10-15 minutes stroll takes you to the North & South Laines where you can mooch around all the funky little shops.
The i360 is close by and fast becoming one of the most popular tourist haunts, with great new shops & cafes close by. The i360 is a fun place for a sunset cocktail.
Opposite the house is the delightful historic pub, The Bedford Tavern - a heterosexual friendly gay venue, with the biggest heart and community spirit we have ever found. And we have amazing neighbours - it's a friendly little community so if you have questions there are folk nearby.

I'm a lifelong traveller, a single mother who raised fabulous 21-year old twin boys, living across three continents. We have had an exciting life together, relishing diversity, and enjoying Australia, Europe, South Africa, Malaysia and beyond. Now that they are busy finding their own ways with work & university, my work continues to keep me travelling often, promoting women's rights and health. One of the great good fortunes of our unusual life is that we have two beautiful family beach homes - filled with love, our unique sense of style and the quirky remnants of joyful, global lives. I mainly live in Brighton, but increasingly in our Cape Town holiday home. My sons are now living away from home , but it is important to know that these are our homes (not just rental properties!) We hope that you will have a happy stay and enjoy our homes when we are travelling for work or fun - please tell us about why you are travelling

During your stay
You'll be staying while we are away. Some times I will meet you - mostly you will pick up the keys from our neighbours who run the pub over the road (it opens at 12 noon) and you return the keys there. We have great neighbours - and a lovely cleaner - who will be available if needed - and you an always reach me on WA during your stay.
I can often arrange a late check out - & May be able to arrange earlier check ins or luggage storage. If that helps you, please just ask!
