The space
** CEDAR IN WINTER
In winter (from November), bring your sheets/warmer blankets and winter clothing. WE WILL NOT PROVIDE SHEETS FOR THE BED!
There will be a heater but it is not central. On the other hand, the dwelling is provided with very good insulation, despite the fact that there are some small air infiltrations!
Entirely made of Canadian cedar, the CEDAR is an open-plan home of approximately 300 square feet, including a fully equipped kitchen, a closed bathroom with compost toilet, a dining table and a double bed.

The boat's walls are almost entirely fenestered, revealing the splendour of the Richelieu River and its islands. At the end of the house, you will find large glass doors that give access to a superb outdoor platform equipped with deckchairs, a small BBQ and fishing lines.

The house is also connected to electricity, which gives access to a plasma TV with satellite antenna, a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an induction plate and of course, lighting. Several electrical outlets are also available to connect your own electrical appliances.

The boat is also equipped with a cool weather heating system and a fan for hot weather. But, being directly on the water, the CÉDAR enjoys a pleasant temperature almost at all times.

Unfortunately, there is no shower on the boat... However, a large sink is available in the bathroom. The water coming out of the lever chamber is drinkable and can be used to wash hands or do dishes. The toilet is a compost dry toilet - ecological, odourless and comfortable -.

We look forward to welcoming you there!

Guest access
Although the traveller does not have access to it, the land on which the CEDAR is located is filled with century-old trees and vegetation of all kinds. This flora will give you the impression of being in the middle of the forest and this, a few minutes from a multitude of services!

However, travellers will have access to the dock, the entire floating house and the "compost" corner located on the property.

Other things to note
**WELCOME TO FISHERMEN & YACHTSMEN **
The CEDAR is docked at a large 20-foot wharf, leaving one side vacant. It is therefore possible to come directly by small boat or rowboat via the Richelieu River. Contact us for more information about the various services offered to fishermen and boaters in the region.

**SWIMMING NOT RECOMMENDED**
Although many people venture there, the Richelieu River is not known for its cleanliness. It is a very busy river and the current is very strong.

**So we're not responsible for any swim-related injuries!

Location

Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada

The CEDAR is located in the heart of the Richelieu Valley in the picturesque village of Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu. The boat is located on Île aux cerfs and on Île de Jeannotte (Île aux fesses for intimates!). This magnificent sector of the river brings an impressive number of boats that anchor between the two islands to spend the day.

**FOR INFORMED TRAVELLERS
This traffic brings its share of loud music (mainly top 40) and boats nearby. However, this situation only occurs on weekends (Friday PM, Saturday and Sunday) and during periods of sunshine. While this may be a negative point for some, it will certainly be a source of entertainment and distraction for others. On the other hand, be assured that when the sun sets, the tranquility and calm of the river will surely recharge you and soothe you!

Several fast food shops and a gas station with a large convenience store are located at exit 113 of Highway 20 (about 5 minutes by car from the boat).

The CEDAR is also a few minutes by car (about 15 minutes) from the old Beloeil where there are many restaurants, bars and shops of all kinds.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the Mont Saint-Hilaire Nature Centre and Mont-Saint-Bruno National Park are about 20 minutes by car from the floating house.

A complete guide listing the activities to be done in the region will be accessible on the boat (golf courses, vineyards, beaches, restaurants and bars, etc.).
