Here at Town End Farm, The Byre forms part of a traditional stone barn converted sympathetically in 2003, retaining pine beams and stone features, into 3 self contained holiday cottages. Our other cottages can be taken at the same time to sleep 16 people.

We are located in the small village of Airton, just south of Malham in the Yorkshire Dales, famous for its limestone features and waterfalls and a stone's throw from the Pennine Way. Many other footpaths lead from the doorstep.

The space
The Byre is accessed down a flight of 17 stone steps to its own garden/patio area. Once at the bottom, The Byre is on one level comprising spacious living accommodation with an electric ‘log burner’ effect fire, a radio/CD player and TV with DVD player in the lounge which also has french windows onto the garden/patio area. The fully fitted kitchen, opening into a spacious lounge, is equipped with dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge with freezer compartment above, microwave oven and a full size oven and hob. The master bedroom has a king size bed with ensuite. The twin room is adjacent to the house bathroom with shower, bath, wc and whb. The rental includes all heating, lighting, hot water, linen, duvets and towels.
It's a perfect cottage for families and we can supply a high chair, stair gate and travel cot foc if needed. Complimentary WiFi is also provided.
We welcome one well-behaved.dog per property too. An additional charge of £25 applies. Quality local produce can be purchased from the nearby farm shop and there is ample parking.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole property whether fully occupied or not. There is ample parking close by and a large open green space just beyond the garden wall which is suitable for ball games and is shared with other cottages nearby.

Other things to note
Do please note that this cottage is not suitable for those with mobility problems, access to it is down 17 stone steps. This should be noted for families with small children too, but once down at the entrance level, the accommodation is on one level.

Location

Airton, England, United Kingdom

The Byre is part of a converted traditional stone barn on the outskirts of Airton, a small village about 2 miles south of Malham, in the Yorkshire Dales. We have 2 other cottages here too, together they sleep 16 people, great for family gatherings.
Rolling countryside can be seen from all aspects of the cottage.
The farm shop nearby is ideal for stocking up on good quality local produce and the tea room does a mean cream scone.

Been married to Chris for40 years, have 2 children and 2 grandchildren who we adore. Formerly farmers who diversified in 2001, opened a farmshop and tea room and converted the barn into holiday cottages. Lease out the farmshop now. Enjoy going to the theatre, reading, travelling and eating out and love meeting all our guests from all over the world. We live nearby and if possible, we like to welcome our guests personally, show them into the cottage, explain the heating, fire etc and invite any questions.
