My 3 bed room home is in a safe , quiet cul-de-sac in the leafy green suburb of Freshwater.

The allotment is large and private, and tropically landscaped.

There are caretakers living on site in a completely separate apartment, accessed from the lower yard.

The space
Freshwater is an established green leafy suburb in Cairns and is known for its safety, and landscaped setting and peacefulness.

There are the usual amenities such as a small shopping centre with a mini mart, patisserie /coffee shop in a lush nursery ( Limberlost), , and Thai restaurant.

There are two great pubs in the adjoining suburbs, the Red Beret at Redlynch and the Stratford hotel.

Freshwater is only a 10 minute drive to and from the airport and 15mins into the city centre of Cairns.

There is also a bus stop 100m down the road where you can catch public transport into town or out to the northern beaches and Redlynch valley.

Recently the council completed a safe, wide concrete bicycle and walking path from Freshwater to the city and Esplanade.

The Kuranda train stops at the Freshwater historic railway station, and the sky rail cable car is only a 10 minute drive away.

The home is suitable for families, couples, small groups up to 6!people, and solo travellers looking for peace and quiet in beautiful surrounds.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire floor of the house which is all on the same level as the garage, and contains three large bedrooms, a spacious separate lounge, and seperate dining and kitchen areas that overlook the pool and outdoor covered entertainment patio.

There is also a separate laundry, and two bathrooms and three toilets.

The entry is private and secure, and off street parking is available for two vehicles in a secure lock up garage should you and your group be driving

The onsite caretakers, Des and Sharon, live in a seperate unit accessed only from the lower yard.

There is a key safe on the left side of the garage.
The access code will be advised as the date for your arrival draws nearer.
There will be two keys that are keyed alike to all locks in the house.
Please lock them in the safe on your departure.

Other things to note
The floor plan is all on one level off the garage, and is open planned, and enjoys cross ventilation from the prevailing breezes all year round, and for those hot tropical summer months, the whole house is also air-conditioned.

In addition, there are ceiling fans in all rooms, and “crimsafe” security/ insect screens on all windows and doors, and I never close them when I go out, or in the evening, unless it’s very hot and need to use the air conditioning.

There are first aid materials in the bathroom drawers.

The large pool and covered outdoor patio provides respite in the warmer months.
It's a great entertainment area, and many a great dinner party has been held there in the past.
There is a new weber BBQ, and an out door shade umbrella and seating. .

There are kids toys ( from my kids and grandkids) that will save families lugging all those things with them on holidays.

The kitchen and appliances have recently been replaced, including a new wall oven, microwave gas cook top and fridge

new smart Tvs provides access to Netflix , wifi etc. in both the lounge and main bedroom

The laundry has a new Bosh washing machine and a seperate wall mounted dryer.

There are also covered and outdoor clothes lines at the end of the garage .

Neighbourhood highlights

I have lived in Freshwater now for over 35 years and the thing that I like most about the area is its safety, the views over the cane fields , it's quiet amenity and lush evergreen tropical setting.

All the amenities you need are within walking distance of the house, including good coffee shops, (especially Limberlost, a lively restaurant in a plant nursery,), the baker and mini mart.

Freshwater is a 10minute drive or taxi ride from the Cairns international airport and only 15 minutes into town or out to the northern beaches.
