Our Punk Shui industrial art space has cool, comfortable rooms, a great bookstore, full kitchen, a complete printmaking studio & a private music rehearsal space. Echo Park & Silverlake adjacent, a block from the river in LA's vibrant creative hub.

The space

We have been in this space for 6 years operating as a printmaking studio and event space; & have now expanded our community to include you, our traveling guests. There is a bookshop (Book Show LA) and barber shop on site. We have 5 unique rooms for Airbnbers. 2 showers and 2 bathrooms. This room has great light and lots of open space.

Guest access

You will have full access to the kitchen and the gallery areas. Guests can rent time in the music room and printmaking studio based on availability. We also offer printmaking lessons. You are welcome to join any writing, printmaking workshops, reading, drawing clubs or "open mics" that are scheduled during your visit.

Interaction with guests

We don't live at NOMAD, but are just a few miles away & are usually working in the studio. We are always available but guests have plenty of privacy. With 5 very cool, unique guest rooms, you can bring a group or hang out with other "Nomads."

Other things to note

We are dog people and we are not totally against you bringing your pet(s) - we just want to make sure it is a good fit first.

Nomad is a marvelous spot; however, it's one reserved for the artistic, flexible and open-minded individuals that don't mind doing without a lot of "hotel type" comforts. Fortunately for me...that's exactly the type of spot I prefer! Lisa & Damon were very accommodating (given the holiday & last minute booking). The greater surprise was Josh, who I think is the manager of the art studio/collective. Upon arrival he gave me a great tour and run-down of the space, community and general overview of those currently staying in the collective. I had to change rooms mid-stay; but again, I wasn't bothered by the experience and preferred my new digs. Kitchen is big & open...great for cooks. There are three bathrooms, two have showers. Unfortunately, I chose to stay during a holiday weekend so many of the artists/crafts folks were away; so I'll have to wait until my next visit before I get a chance to dig into the print making studio or band room (although I did play around on the drum kit momentarily). The rooms I stayed in were modestly appointed with the basics. The 2nd room was a bit chilly but a space heater rectified the situation. I loved it's close proximity to the LA River where I took a few strolls and found a few fly coffee spots & cafes. However, the neighborhood is definitely a young, burgeoning one. It's close to downtown LA, Griffith Park, Silver Lake, Eagle Rock and right off the 2 and I-5. I'm definitely staying here whenever I'm in LA...so long as I'm on that side of the city. Thanks again Josh, Damon & Lisa...and an honorable mention to Gina. :)

Damon and Lisa were great! My room was clean, private and airy with a comfortable bed. Nomad is a incrediblt unique place full of creative energy and good vibes. Something of a creative compound unlike anything I've seen before. The printmaking studio is amazing. Next time I'll definitely ask for a lesson. The bookstore is great too, lots of rare and interesting books. I bought a box full. Will definitely stay here again
